Huge game in District 1. Winner gets the top seed in the D1 playoffs, wins the SOL National Conference and local bragging rights. Series currently tied 39-39-7. One of the best rivalries in this area for decades. Catch the video stream on WBCB.

Wow, great comeback by the Skins. Down 20-7 in the 4th they rally for a 21-20 win and clinch the top seed in districts.

IMO, neither team is strong as North Penn, Coatesville or Downingtown East, but that's why they play the games. Good luck to both.

We had them all the way.

Neshaminy's undefeated 1971 team, with three first team All-States on offense, was voted Pennsylvania's Team of the Century, and their win against Pennsbury that year was a classic. Lost in that hullabaloo is the fact that Pennsbury was the undefeated #1 the following year, beating a one-loss NHS team in a game that was every bit as exciting as the 1971 game. That Redskin team had Bob Grupp at QB, great player. (I was class of 1974.)

I am pretty sure that Pennsbury's '72 team was led by QB Steve Nielsen, who was also an outstanding basketball and baseball player. He pitched for PSU for 4 years and spent some time in the minors. He was the head baseball coach at Pennsbury for a number of years in the 90s and 00s.

Most importantly, he was the QB of our intramural fraternity football team at PSU!

Fellow HS class of '74 here, Lion Jim. Mechanicsburg PA HS (outside of Harrisburg).

Sock beat Montoursville for the Battle of the Bridge last night. For the next year, the bridge is referred to as the Loyalsock Bridge, not the Montoursville Bridge.

They never should have built it, imo.

The rematch is set for next week in the District 1 quarterfinals. Pennsbury shut out Central Bucks South 17-0 and Neshaminy took care of Spring-Ford 42-21. See you at Heartbreak Ridge on Friday. We'll be under the water tower for the pre-game.
