That movie has so many classic scenes, and Robert Duvall is great in it.

TCM is a lot of fun. I don’t get to watch it often but enjoy it when I do
I never saw the original Apocalypse Now. I watched Redux several years ago and went into the office talking to my boss about the scenes I thought were the most powerful.
Turns out they were two that weren't in the original.
"The film contains several alterations, and two entirely new scenes. One of the new scenes has the boat meeting the Playmates once again, farther up the river; the other has them meet a family of holdout French colonists on their remote rubber plantation."
Seeing the playmates again, and the general despair on that second base resonated with me.
And the French holdouts... so very French, but also realistic. Living in another world.
