Menendez, who managed to get a mistrial ruling in his earlier corruption case because there apparently was not clear proof of a quid pro quo (the court holding that a pattern of gifts combined with a pattern of official favors to the gift giver was not sufficient to convict, a la that Republican crook from Virginia, Bob McDonnell ), managed to engage in graft yet again. But this time, a series of e-mails from his trailer trash wife put them both behind the 8-ball. That, and the reported $500,00 in cash and gold bars stashed in their home.

Good riddance to Menendez. He is pond scum, as I have noted on this Board on several occasions. And props, once again, to the Department of Justice under Merrick Garland for prosecuting official corruption without fear or favor. Now, it's time for Jack Smith to proceed with the prosecution of an even bigger, orange complected crook. Go get 'em, Jack!!
