Maybe he will move to where baldwin is living, unless it's like Tuscany in Seinfeld and there are no homes available.

Seth should be shown the door right behind him...

patience, it will happen. Seth's political career is over

That's possible, but the odds would point in the other direction. First, there are no term limits on the Philadelphia District Attorney. Second, the next election for Philadelphia DA is 2017, which is a long time in politics. Third, while Williams did receive some criticism for his handling of Fina and other former OAG employees, it wasn't a huge firestorm. There will be a lot of other issues that are likely to be bigger deals in the next Philadelphia DA race.

You probably have a better case if you claim that his prospects of being elected to a higher office are greatly reduced, but even there it's not as though it's out of the question. As with most elections, it depends on a number of factors.

The Philadelphia DA office has only been an elected office since 1952. Since that time only 2 incumbents have not won re-election. (Arlen Specter lost his bid for a 3rd term in 1973, and F. Emmett Fitzpatrick lost a primary race in his bid for a 2nd term in 1977.) Seth Williams ran against his predecessor, Lynne Abraham, in the 2005 primary when she was seeking her 4th term. He lost that primary race, but went on to win the primary and general election race 4 years later.

Coincidence that he resigned so close to Gansler coming out with an interim report?

I don't think it is a coincidence at all. I hope that Gansler focuses on the ex parte communications between the OAG and the judiciary. There is already evidence that Fina and Feudale were in cahoots, but I believe this is just the tip of the iceberg. I hope the report is comprehensive in this regard.

You might be right, but Fina submitted his letter of resignation on 5/9/2016. This was before it was publicly known that Gansler would be releasing an interim report soon.

So I looked at what else was going on in that timeframe. FYI - if you only read the media headlines below, which I've bolded, you might get a distorted view of what's happened in the last few months.

Media coalition asks judge to deny Kane's secret motion request - The Morning Call
3/25/2016
http://www.mcall.com/news/nationwor...-block-kane-secret-motion-20160325-story.html

The Morning Call is among five Pennsylvania media companies asking a judge to deny Attorney General Kathleen Kane's request to file a secret motion claiming she is a victim of "selective and vindictive prosecution."

Kane filed the request in her Montgomery County perjury and obstruction case March 18. Her attorneys said they have been warned by a Philadelphia judge that both she and her defense team probably would be held in contempt of court if they filed the claims publicly.

The media coalition, which includes the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Legal Intelligencer, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Patriot-News, argues in a court filing Friday that Kane's motion should be denied because she hasn't shown why sealing the papers is necessary to protect her rights or that there's no alternative to shutting out the public.

"All the attorney general has offered is a confused and vague concern that Judge [Diane] Anhalt — who is overseeing a separate case before another Court of Common Pleas — may hold her in contempt for filing a motion in her own criminal case," the media coalition's filing says.

Kane drops motion after judge chastises her lawyer - philly-archives

Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane's legal team dropped a bid to secretly pursue a legal motion on her behalf Wednesday, after a Philadelphia judge accused one of her lawyers of grossly distorting the judge's words.

As a result, Kane's lawyers now plan to file in open court her argument that political enemies have made her a victim of "vindictive and selective" prosecution.

In a previous filing, Ross Kramer, a member of Kane's legal team, said the judge, Diana Anhalt, had warned that she might hold Kane and her lawyers in contempt if they filed a public defense motion alleging that Kane was a victim of selective prosecution.

But in a court order made public Wednesday during a hearing in Norristown, Anhalt said that was not so.

"This court never made the statements attributed to it by attorney Kramer," Anhalt wrote, adding that Kramer was guilty of an "intentional misrepresentation."

After Kramer was chastised, Kane's lawyers abandoned their bid to file their selective-prosecution argument secretly, under seal, viewable only by prosecutors and the judge in Kane's pending criminal trial.

Instead, they will file the potentially incendiary motion publicly in the coming week.

Last month, lawyers for the Inquirer, the Daily News, and Philly.com and four other news organizations filed a legal motion asking that all of Kane's legal arguments be accessible to the public.

On procedural grounds, judge rejects Kane's claim of selective prosecution - philly-archives

A Montgomery County judge on Monday rejected state Attorney General Kathleen Kane's bid to have the criminal case against her dismissed on the ground that she was the victim of selective and "vindictive" prosecution.

Judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy said Kane's lawyers had not conformed to proper procedure in filing their motion for dismissal last month. The judge did not offer an opinion on the merits of Kane's assertions but gave her a chance to file an amended motion within 10 days.

Even though media outlets had previously filed a motion to intervene to ensure Kane did not file this motion under seal, no media outlets have actually reported on the content of the motion. Kane did refile the motion on 5/26/2016, and still no media outlets have reported on the content of the motion.

The media has yet to write about Kane's public motions, but they have found time to note that Fina has left the Philly DA's office. Even though it only became public on 6/7/2016 that Fina had left the Philly DA's office, Fina had submitted his letter of resignation on 5/9/2016 - shortly after Kane's 4/27/2016 motion on selective and vindictive prosecution was made public - a filing that specifically alleges that it was Fina who caused the selective and vindictive prosecution.

Cameron Kline, a spokesman for District Attorney Seth Williams, said Fina submitted a letter of resignation on May 9 and officially left the office on June 1.

Kline gave no reason for Fina's departure, first reported Tuesday by the Legal Intelligencer. He said Williams "wishes Mr. Fina the best after his many decades of service" as a prosecutor.

Good timeline and points.

I'd like to point out that during Moulton's Sandusky review, all parties who would be named were asked to participate, and even if they refused , were offered a pre-read and opportunity to respond in writing, which was included with the report.

We know who refused participation and immediately started engaging in a Kane smear campaign....

Now we have the Gansler review (of the emails uncovered in the Moulton Sandusky review) , and I'm going to guess that Kane's office asked for the same procedure: offer for those to be named to participate, get a pre-read and allowed an opportunity to respond.

So, could it not be that the reason might be ...both?

Agree, the real significance for PA isn't porn, it's the integrity of the judicial system.

Really Feudale being cozy with Fina isn't the worst of it. Feudale's job as grand jury judge was to essentially be an arm of the prosecution. Feudale's job was to help bulletproof the case -- which of course he botched by mishandling the Baldwin stuff. But Feudale is de facto on Fina's side. It's kind of a special role for a judge.

Of greater concern is Fina being cozy with appeals court judges who oversee the trial court judges. Trading porn and pleasantries with Eakin, a Supreme Court justice, is completely inexcusable. How is a trial court judge going to deny Fina's motions if he thinks Eakin is looking over his shoulder? Stuff like this can get convictions thrown out. If the email evidence extends back to the political corruption cases, and includes exchanges between Fina and Eakin discussing those cases, for instance, that would be real trouble because it could get Fina's convictions reversed.
