Hopefully Sandy finds budget to pay our assistants or we may see them leave down the line even if they have loyalty with CJF

Hard to do when your payin' for fancy ceeement ponds and the like.

Actually, I think they just gave Larry Johnson a raise and new title so he's probably making more than $750,000. His new title is something like associate head coach. It's all about money with those dirt bags.

and so does FSU and together they make $957K!!! Was that money well spent??

Just think about the raises those clowns get when they put together a good year. Greater foot theory prevails when it comes to most athletic directors paying football coaches.

Old LJ can sniff out the Benjamin's like no one else. JVP's estate should get royalties on every dime he makes

these numbers really make me feel like the players should get paid. Compare this to a regular job. The players get scholarships plus room and board and a small stipend. Let’s say this adds up to 50k per year. Where would you find a job directing a division of 20 $50,000 employees and get paid $750k to do so? (and report to a 2nd level boss who makes $5 million). The answer is that this would not exist in any company or organization because it is ridiculous. If the management made that kind of money the emoloyees would also be very valuable and would get paid a lot.

I would take Spence and his wild dogs over any of those guys.

Joe would have told the AD not to worry about his salary, just take care of the assistants. Those days are long gone.

How close is Penn State to a $9 Million football coaching payroll now? I'm not sure it's that far off.

Is Spencer’s salary public? Isn’t there a chance that he could be on that list? Although from how franklin talks, he might not be up to that level

Not currently public. If he reaches the Top 10 it will be.

I'm seeing an awful lot of "Bucks" but not much "Bang" for it.

Totally agree with this, especially when you consider that this excess compensation is coming out of university funds.

It’s not what you’re worth. It’s what someone is willing to pay.

No PSUers on list because PSU only releases the top 25 payrollees. Vast majority of them are doctors at MSHMC. Hell Barron not at the top of the list.

Congrats to Mr. Johnson...well deserved. He's got a ton of great players who he recruited and developed into all-pros at PSU and tOSU.

And, as the saying goes, Johnson didn't leave PSU. PSU left Johnson.
