If you get a chance, I suggest you attend either your local Police Department’s Citizens Academy and/or the FBI’s Citizens Academy.
These programs are free to the general public and provide a behind-the-scenes look at what the department does for the citizens of their community and the training they go through.
I just finished the FBI Citizens Academy and it was awesome. My local Police does them as well and I completed that one 25 years ago - and it was even better (more hands on).
