It wasn't just spygate - the taping and interpretation of other teams' signs. The Pats may or may not have taped the Rams super bowl walk through in '02. It's pretty well established that Bill sent guys into opposing teams' locker rooms to steal play sheets... and coach-to-QB headset communication routinely gets disrupted in Foxboro.
Deflategate was probably a "make-up call" and IMO, that was a misdemeanor compared to these other felonies.

So, what sort of cheating aided the Pats' S.B. run this year? Maybe none. Maybe something more creative. We may never know...but the taint will always be there, long after Belichick finally retires (probably after winning 6 more SB's).
