I know Pitt had to move to the ACC because at most big schools football drives the revenue bus. But, seems that much was lost for Pitt with the demise of Big East BB.Your posts on teams beating Pitt in basketball will get old real soon as most will beat Pitt this season....we are a complete rebuild that more than likely will end in embarrassment week after week....so enjoy the Pitt bashing on basketball as you will have plenty of fodder this year....

IMHO the move to the ACC severely hurt their basketball recruiting, which may sound odd at first, given the ACC's reputation in basketball. Pittsburgh isn't a hub of basketball talent. A lot of their recruiting was done in NYC, with some in DC and Philly. When they left the Big East, they lost that exposure in NYC. They no longer have games against St. John's, Seton Hall and UConn, all NYC market teams. They no longer have games against Georgetown. Maryland should have given them exposure in DC to offset the loss of the Hoyas, but they obviously left the ACC. And beyond the actual games, it's just conference coverage and exposure, where teams are in the standings, etc. All of that is gone in their biggest recruiting areas.I know Pitt had to move to the ACC because at most big schools football drives the revenue bus. There may be some truth to this, but I doubt it is the main reason. Syracuse, Virginia, Duke, UNC are all in the ACC and there is no shortage of exposure in the main markets. Also, It's not like NYC or D.C. media pay enough attention to college sports that Pittsburgh's league affiliation matters in this regard. I've lived in both media markets. In NYC it's 95 percent knicks, 5 percent Nets, and 0.0001 percent St John's and Seton Hall. In DC it's 95 percent Wizards, 5 percent Maryland and GeorgetownIMHO the move to the ACC severely hurt their basketball recruiting, which may sound odd at first, given the ACC's reputation in basketball. Didn't PSU lose to a bad Pitt team last year in New Jersey? The last time Navy beat an ACC team in basketball was 1971. #Pitting #SPitt happens

My niece, who is dating a midshipman, would disagree...Same difference.
A Midshipmen is simply another term for an officer cadet.......They're not Cadets, they're Middies.
No need to worry. Someone here would no doubt correct you.I thought about my faux pas after I got in bed and said ah I'm not getting back up to fix that.
