One of my top highlights last night was Carter raising his hand after and pointing at him before calling him a national champ in his interview. Can’t be said enough just how essential he is to the team but beyond his area of expertise, you can tell he is a coach/mentor to these kids as well.

At the social, Carter made a point to call out Connor Pierce for being there all day every day. Paraphrasing, it’s great to have someone like that in your life who will be there within minutes when you call him. Asked for everyone to stand and recognize him.

One of the things I enjoy seeing in wrestling is how much the trainers and support staff are invested in the team and athletes. Love seeing them just as passionate and vocal as wrestling moms when the wrestlers are on the mat. I don’t see that nearly as much in the bigger sports.
