I'd like to think at least a part of it was to protect his young RB from getting another fumble. And the team turnover margin, etc. He knows that stats like that make a difference when it comes time to determining the playoff teams.

Franklin was furious when Slade fumbled. Seemed to indicate he wanted another score. It might have also benefited Ricky, but I think the primary motivation was to bury a guy who has been negatively recruiting him since day one.
