Yep. I never ‘got’ the Grateful Dead.

Agreed. And despite this I still saw them at the Spectrum. So don't say that I didn't try.

Steely Dan..damn, they get a ton of air time on Sirius radio...i hate them. Dire Straits as well...
You sound like a guy I work with. He hates all the same bands, which I like all of them. He hates Rush with a passion, but loves hair metal. It drives me crazy and we always argue how he loves Poison, but hates Rush who he calls garbage. We have some spirited debates about music and I always bring in other coworkers to give him crap, but he sticks by his taste of music which I respect. I hate hair metal especially Guns N Roses, which he loves.
Sorry to those who don't understand. As Jerry said, the Grateful Dead are like black licorice.

As mentioned above, maybe I can occasionally and I frequently listen to something from these groups but in general I will flip stations if I hear their songs begin.
I’m not really enthused by the ones below as they are above The “Can’t Stand” threshold of pain, but I will seek alternatives:

any longer, most Beatles songs. I’ve heard too many Beatles for too long and most are simple bubble-gum music to my ears now

Respectfully, Guns N Roses is not hair metal.
Hate is a strong word, these are talented lads... but I got so sick of hearing Mumford and Sons. Is there such a thing as too much banjo? Maybe.
I've tried with genesis. They're absolutely awful except for one or two tracks. Just horrible garbage.

It sucks how talented their front man is. He was the chosen one and he turned to the dark side.
Agree, some people like packaged studio music devoid of any ability to improvise. Just like some don't care for jazz for that reason, uptight people need structure.
