Frank Fina was bad, but at least he was cunning in his badness, which created some level of entertainment.

Mosby, in Baltimore, is not cunning, she's an idiot. Check it out:

1) She gave a big press conference about the illegal arrest for a "legal" knife. But whoops, it turns out the knife was illegal and so she had to drop those charges.

2) After shooting her mouth off, in an obvious politicized speech designed to appeal to idiots and racialists everywhere, she filed a motion for a gag order . . . but she filed it in the wrong court!

3) It turns out that a short time before the Freddie Gray incident, she had written a memo. to the police directing them to implement targeted enforcement right where Freddie Gray was arrested, but she didn't feel the need to disclose this in her grand press conference. LOL.

Three strikes and you're out. Fina wouldn't have made any of these mistakes.

During the press conference when she announced the criminal charges she told the public "she heard their voice" (to paraphrase). That was the first clue she is an opportunist and a bad attorney. Criminal charges should be based on facts and not what the vocal mob wants.

Nothing today about the guy who died after receiving injuries while in police custody? Or, for some reason, is he of lesser importance?

Sorry, but I can't bring myself to get all excited about a guy who is accidentally killed in police custody, except to say: 1) the cops should immediately adopt better procedures to make sure this never happens again, and 2) the City should pay the dead guy's estate a lot of $$$. Charging negligent cops with murder? Dumb.

Just because one thing is wrong, doesn't mean the other is right. They can both be wrong...they can both be right. Didn't you see 50 shades of gray?

There are good cops and bad cops. There are stupid people. I am no fan of cops, believe me. Having said that, everyone of these issues with cops has involved some very, very problematic people. I mean people that resisted arrests, have tons of priors, and are simply bad people (the only exception being the dude that died in NYC).

The local issues, here in CLE, the paper never mentions that the guy and gal shot numerous times tried to run a couple of police officers over with their car before being fatally shot. Why isn't that reported??? In private conversations, several police officers told me that they had a gun and fired it during the chase, but several searches for it have come up empty as they and suspect they tossed it from the car.

Who knows but cooler heads must prevail.

Yup-still a dead guy.

At least the Klansman with a Badge in Texas had the decency to resign. What an effing idiot he was. Proves that you don't have to be intelligent to be a cop.

Yeah, and Nifong went to jail. Shows you don't have to be ethical or honest to be a prosecutor.

I thought her politicized speech was disgraceful. She, more or less, said she was giving the protesters what they wanted. And how about the mayor allowing looting and property damage with no consequences. I don't understand this world. To me, those people should be shot. And I don't mean this rant to give the police a free ride, either. Someone was wrong there, too.

Right...end result? Tons of property damage, good businesses being hesitant to invest there, and a rising crime rate. Nice work everyone.

I'll give her this, though: the speech and charges did sooth the mob's bloodlust.

If her plan all along was to bring shaky charges, knowing that they would cool the mob and wouldn't hold up in court, then I may have to revise my opinions. I don't think that's her plan, though. I think her plan is to pursue a wrongful prosecution because it's popular in her constituency and will get her elected Mayor or congresswoman.

She's also NOW put a gag order on the autopsy report. We (meaning some who live in my community) wonder what is in the report that now she decided to keep it quiet. Certainly didn't have any trouble being in the spotlight when she was in front of the Courthouse and over charging the cops.
Her and the idiot mayor have an awful lot in common with Nero.

My (and many others, worry is what happens after most if not all of these charges get dropped? Its going to piss off the mob even more.
And the uptick in murders we've had is outrageous but hey those gang members were walking hand in hand for peace. (sarcasm meter off the chart).

Even in that case, all that is being reported is that it was a"pool party"--not the bit about that it was a private pool and the teens were trespassing (and charging admission). Seems to have been a "flash crowd" kind of thing.

We just aren't getting the full story on any of these things anymore.

The "full story" isn't important, only the narrative is important.

Fina had the advantage of being trained in Pa. for a much longer period of time and most likely had much more devious mentors. She was a novice in more ways than one. Didn't she also have a conflict of interest and refused to recuse herself?

They're seeking her recusal on grounds that she is married to the guy who represents the "Freddie Gray district". You know, the one where she had directed the police to step up enforcement efforts.

no offense dude, but you're really not making a good point when you say Mosby's failing is that she isn't as corrupt, deceptive, and cunning as Fina.

I never found Fina, McGettigan, or Kelly cunning. I believe they blatantly abused their power as state attorneys when prosecuting C/S/S (maybe Sandusky) thereby causing irreparable damage to Penn State, the state's flagship university and largest employer, and countless others. They, along with Corbett, should all be disbarred. I don't know how any of them can sleep at night.

Isn't this the same Frank Fina who is often cited here as exonerating JoePa of any legal culpability in the Sandusky Scandal, but in all other matters is a candidate for tarring and feathering. If you want to make Joe's case to the general public, someone in that public realm might question the credibility of Fina as a source of truth.

I did not see 50 shades of gray but I just read 50 shades of ridiculous shit... the totality of this thread.
