Black Heart Gold Pants: Does Iowa Wrestling have a Cael Sanderson Problem?

Black Shoe Diaries: Penn State Wrestling -- Playing Catsup (sic)
(pretty funny description of scoring in FS)

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle: Bozeman wrestler Schroeder commits to Purdue
(interesting read on the saga a HS senior went thru after the Boise St. announcement)

Lincoln Journal Star: Funding Burroughs' training is underappreciated part of Manning's job
(3 interesting claims in the article, including 1 about PSU, which are worth reading)

Arizona Daily Star: CDO's Turner Washington, Rio Rico's Allie Schadler were Southern Arizona's best
(small piece on Roman Bravo-Young)

FloWrestling: 66kg Jr World Team Trials Just Got Tougher

FloWrestling: 7 Teams To Watch At the NHSCA Duals
(appears Adam Busiello and Jarod Verkleeren will be competing)

Black Heart Gold Pants: Does Iowa Wrestling have a Cael Sanderson Problem?

This author has a lot guts.

I think it's a pretty realistic piece and will get ignored on HR. What happened with UConn women's basketball this past season is the equivalent to Penn State's 2014-15 season - an aberration based on available bodies. It's not likely to occur again for a while. Cael is getting the cupboard stocked for the future. And watch out for UConn women's basketball next season. They lose very little and are bringing in some beasts - plus they will be on a mission.

Bscaff of BSD tells it like it is. I can't wait to hear Foley's take on it:

"Unfortunately, now that wrestling is back in the Olympics, they’re bringing back all of the moronic rules that got wrestling kicked out. Why? Because wrestling is run by Eastern European communists who cheat. That’s why. They’re a bunch of freaking cheaters. They buy mat referees to get the results they want. If wrestling rules are relatively clear and objective, then the refs they bought “out” themselves in the middle of the Olympics with outrageous calls and phony video review. Mongolian coaches stripped naked at the blatant cheating from the commies. Thus, by creating bullcrap rules like “correct throw”, the commies take the match out of the wrestlers’ hands, and let the refs pick a winner - the refs that they buy."

That article is 6 yrs or so too late. (Though to be fair, the author did say he sensed it in 2010.) That horse is out of the barn, has jumped the fence, and is running free.

Iowa now has a very real Tan Tom problem, and a potential Orange problem looming, though no more J Rob problem.

Iowa has a field problem not just a cael problem. Since their last NC they have finished behind at least one other team not named PSU each year and that isnt changing in the near term.

It may actually get worse before it gets better. When delusional rutgers fans think they can beat iowa, the field has passed you by.

No way does rutgers beat iowa but the fact they dare to even type it....is my point.

Not sure if they've seen the article. They're not talking about it on HR.

Why do Iowa fans refuse to recognize Cael's success at ISU? His teams placed 2nd, 3rd and 5th at NCAAs and won three straight Big 12 titles. Cael won National Coach of The Year his first season there as head coach. How does this equate to "moderate success"???

Big Brother/little brother stuff, plus it's a vocal minority, plus some like to troll us from afar...
