And now for some good news for once

They used to chalk tires in state college, which required a person to walk around. Now they have jeeps with cameras on them that take the plate, time and location and remember it. You get 2 hours to move and you must move to a different block. It’ll nail you if you stay on the same block. It was better when you could wipe the chalk off.

"The purpose of marking tires was to "raise revenue," not to protect the public against a safety risk, the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said."

Well the purpose of parking tickets to begin with is to raise revenue.

Plus, why don't they just take a picture of the car to know if it's chronically illegally parked?

The purpose of all tickets is to raise revenue, speeding included. Do away with that revenue stream and they will only create another. Tickets are a tax on the stupid and inattentive- who would you rather have to pay?

Living in an area with only street parking where rules are selectively enforced, enforced incorrectly, and where meters and supporting infrastructure frequently don't work, I can tell you that's a silly statement.
