The WSJ knows that, Mr. Trump is fast finding it out.

Trump Asks Court to Put $355 Million Penalty on Hold

....In Wednesday’s filing, Trump’s lawyers asked an appeals court to keep James from seizing his assets for now and to grant more lenient bond terms.

It stated that in an absence of a stay, “properties would likely need to be sold to raise capital under exigent circumstances,” indicating that Trump lacks the liquidity to cover the judgment.

His lawyers said Trump would agree to post a $100 million bond and submit to continued court financial oversight over his business empire while he appeals Engoron’s ruling. They said that the lending restrictions Engoron imposed “make it impossible to secure and post a complete bond,” which would require Trump to put up hundreds of millions of dollars in collateral.

James’s office urged the appeals court to reject Trump’s request in a filing Wednesday. It expressed concern that Trump and his co-defendants would “attempt to evade enforcement of the judgment.” It also disputed that the loan restrictions would impede Trump from posting a full bond.
