If Bartlett goes at 149, I really like his chances to be an All-American.

I wonder if a TF with zero back points at HWT has ever been done?
Snyder did it to Heino at 2018 NCAAs -- and probably a lot more often than that ... results being a little cumbersome to check.

Update -- here are all the times Snyder did it (as listed on Track):

2016:
vs. Horwath (Wisconsin)
B10s – vs. Black (Illinois)
B10s – vs. Jensen (Nebraska)

2017:
vs. Gross (Rutger)
NCAAs – vs. Gunning (Buffalo)

2018:
vs. Streifel (Goofers)
vs. Boykin (NC State)
B10s – vs. Miller (Indiana)
NCAAs – vs. Heino (Campbell)

I remember rewatching on BTN+ the match against Black of Illinois. Snyder would get a takedown and I would hit the forward 10 seconds and he would score again and it happened over and over again.

As long as Kerk can get off the bottom, he won't need to ride. Like Snyder, he has a big advantage on his feet.

Great baseline and shows the Iowa ceiling and the PSU floor. I too fully expect that gap to close quickly and it become a two horse race at the end.

Agree, I am confident our Fr at 165, 174, 197 and 285 will move up the rankings. That still leaves 125, 149 and 157 though where we scored a total of 1 point at Big Tens last March. Lots of candidates at those weights, but still lots of uncertainty as well.

I know 'we need 8 scoring wrestlers' has been a cliché here for awhile, but with Iowa likely qualifying 10 we might need more.

A big "Welcome Back" to the jammy of old. Been a while since he had a gif worthy post.

Dang, jefe. great work. i will steal this for a tweet at some point haha

Rankings about right for preseason.

Iowa with six seniors, two juniors, and two sophomores appear to be ranked close to their max potential based on previous results. PSU on the other hand with one senior, three juniors, one sophomore and four freshmen, plus a weight class without a ranked wrestler (125), have far more upside...especially for the freshmen, who have no results in PSU singlets to judge. Lots of evidence (RS & FS) says they'll all be moving up, and quickly!
