Well if he choses 7.5 and we come in at 10 or more then you know that the opponents were weaker than anticipated. It can't possibly be that we are better than 7.5 wins.
Your obsession is a little concerning, especially given that I have been right most years.
Remind me. What did you predict last season?
And what are you seeing as a good over/under for wins in the 12 game 2023 regular season?
9.5 looks very fair, at least right now. I would take the under though. We play a harder schedule this year, have a couple of holes on defense, more on offense and a rookie QB. I would consider the over if we played Iowa and Illinois late in the season as opposed to early. We are not beating Ohio State or Michigan regardless of when we play them but would have a solid chance to sweep the western opponents if we played them during the second half. Beating them back to back in September is a lot of a rookie QB who has never taken a meaningful snap against a good defense.
The schedule wan unexpectedly the easiest we have played since joining the Big Ten. I couldn't predict that so my pick was wrong although I did say a somewhat unrealistic ceiling was ten wins. Same as this year.
And again "given that I have been right most years"....what did you predict for the 2022 regular sesson?
