Olympic Qualifier in Istanbul, 5/9-12

How was the table judge going 2-4-2? Amine locked the cradle, and had it locked the whole time. At least replay got it right.

Lee v. China

Lee down 0-2 early on a counter TD.
Pushout Lee 1-2.
China with a 4. Now 1-6.
Pushout Lee 2-6.
And, Lee TD and Lace. 10-6 Lee. China might be injured.
Both wrestlers slow it down, now.
End of 1.

Period 2
Lee maintaining center through the first half.
Traded shots, no damage.
Lee fights off some partial shots, but no damage done.
Pushout China.
TD China, but can't turn the lace or body lock. 10-9 Lee.

Wow. Lee's defense looked bad tbh. He gave up his legs way too much and is lucky he did not give up that two when it was 10-6 and only gave his opponent 1 point. His leg lace saved the day for him. He definitely looked vulnerable in that match, did not get to his hi-c or fireman's once. Credit to his opponent who was very good.

China was the #1 seed.

No idea what to make of Spencer right now. His par terre is unsurprisingly awesome but he just doesn’t look great on his feet and wasn’t exactly dominant at trials.

He should qualify but not sure I’d consider him a favorite to medal at the moment
Fair points

How many guys are in each wt class? Is the next match qtrs for Zain? Thanks!

There appeared to be about 2,048 wrestlers in the 65kg bracket.... give or take a multiple of 2.

EDIT:
I found updated brackets for both 57+65:

Okay, here we go. Zain v. Ochir.

Period 1
Lots of handfighting, no shots through 1:00
Ochir warned for activity.
Ochir pushes Z out, but grounded is the call.
Zain got in on a good shot. Countered, and Ochir gets a TD, 0-2.
Zain the aggressor, but can't get anything. End of 1.

Period 2
Ochir goes hard underhook. Zain counters. Nothing.
2:00 to go.
Zain goes on clock. Unbelievable.
Zain single-leg. Gets the TD!!!!! 2-2. Favor Zain.
Zain cut on the nose. Might actually be coming from under the wrap. Now gets a wrap to wrap the wrap.
Zain fake shots are getting reactions from Ochir.
1:00 to go. No change in score.
Ochir goes feet to back to go up 6-2. Challenge coming. I don't think this will change. Zain rolled him through, but Ochir kept the hold the whole time.
Challege lost 2-7. And that's it.
Damn.

Zain can't really get to any offense. This Mongolian guy is strong and really quick.

Down 2-0 and put on the clock isn’t ideal

And then he gets TD with one sec left on shot clock
