Critical primary coming next Tuesday. The latest Boston Globe tracking poll gives Trump a 16-point lead over Haley (50-34) with DeSantis a non-factor at 5%.

If you look at the schedule over the next month (New Hampshire...Nevada...South Carolina), there seems to be zero opportunity for Ron to break through. The most recent Nevada polling has him 70 points behind Trump...in single digits...with Haley's name not on the ballot in the earlier caucuses there. (She instead opted to run a few days later in the popular-vote primary of Nevada's screwed-up system.)

Next is South Carolina where it's currently 54-25 Trump over Haley with DeSantis again far back in single digits.

I think Nikki was onto something when she proclaimed after Iowa that it's effectively become a 2-person race between her and Trump. I mean, will DeSantis's donors still be on board a month from now after he's been drubbed in four consecutive contests? If so, why? At what point does Ron pack it in and go back to governing Florida?

Meanwhile, the uncharacteristic graciousness that Trump exhibited after his huge Iowa win lasted about 12 hours. Today he was taking snarky shots at both Haley and DeSantis while seeming to make fun of (while misspelling) Nikki's Sikh first name (Nimarata). Trump on Truth Social: >>Anyone listening to Nikki ‘Nimrada’ Haley’s wacked-out speech last night, would think that she won the Iowa Primary. She didn’t, and she couldn’t even beat a very flawed Ron DeSanctimonious, who’s out of money, and out of hope.<<

Totally legit observation but why the gratuitous and stupid mention of her Sikh name? Oh well, nobody ever accused the Orange Man of having class. Besides, many in his voter base eat that shit up: Yay! Nimrada! That'll put the little bitch in her place!

At any rate, the bottom line has been the same for months now and was confirmed in Iowa: Trump has a lock on the Republican nomination and will face off against the un-American Party of Corruption and Lies, its senile puppet, and the powerful forces of evil at its disposal.

This is big. It's historic. And it brings to mind a line from the great Confederate General Stonewall Jackson as he surveyed the carnage of a Civil War battlefield: >>He who does not see the hand of God in this is blind, sir...blind.<<

P.S. Meanwhile, for those keeping track, Vivek remains on the good-guy list today. Laura Loomer positively loves the guy. It turns out that those attacks on him last weekend were all a misunderstanding.
