this hits close to home! I had a several-day business meeting in Oakland in my youth. Being on EST, I was up at 4 am. So I found this Dennys and had breakfast every morning before everyone else got up. TBH, I would have thought it had closed decades ago. Well, they survived the great COVID lockdown purge of restaurants and didn't make it through the "Defund the Police" purge. Sad.
There used to be a GREAT steakhouse in Madison near the football stadium named Smokies that I found closed as well. But they got hit due to COVID and the owners were older and bailed out.
