Couldn't FSU just have lied about their QB's injury and made it into the playoff?

Just say he's day/day but will be back for the playoff. I'm not aware of any rule that they need to report anything besides maybe game availability right before the game?

Travis posted everything on social media regarding his injury and if you saw him on the sideline you know he's not returning even had FSU lied.

Um, stating subjective bullshit like this as a reason why FSU was not selected is precisely why calling this bullshit a "Playoff" is nonsensical. As this thing is currently structured, it is a subjective "Invitational Tournament" - it absolutely is not a "Playoff" in any way shape or form. The only thing that would matter in a true Playoff Structure is that FSU is an undefeated Conference Champion - that should give them a leg-up on a 1-loss Conf Champ. Essentially, the ball-less CFP didn't want to leave the 1-loss SEC Champion (who lost to the 1-loss B12 Champion) out.... So they shamelessly screwed FSU who by the CFP's own prioritization of criteria should have been the #3 Ranked Team (undefeated Conference Champ - record is supposed to come first based on their own list!). Another corrupt embarrassment for CFB.

The CFP Ranking by their own criteria should have been scUM, U-dub, FSU, Texas (Texas getting last spot based on head-to-head.... same first criteria- record, same 2nd criteria - Conf Champ..... Texas wins on next criteria h-to-h win.

Where does it say record comes first? If that was so where's Liberty?

Hardly. Given the fact that they have 4 spaces available, they did a great job getting the 4 best teams in.
