It says a lot that Surma wanted to be the guy to tell Joe he was fired. Any number of people could have done it so no doubt Surma get his rocks off by dropping the hammer. It also says a lot about him that he did it via telephone. Life is easy when you don't have to look people in the eye.

I remember having a conversation with my father shortly after the news broke and all my father said was "this is not how you treat an employee who worked 40+ years for you."...shameful.

That's not how you treat a two year employee. 61 is beyond comprehension.

I remember talking to someone in development in 2012 about this, and they tried to make it sound like a mistake, but not a big deal.
