got a big boost this weekend.

Sad to see that Wainwright may be done for the year (IIRC, he also missed a full year a couple of seasons back - with an arm injury). Early reports seem to indicate a severe injury to his Achilles - likely out for the duration. Cards rotation has been lights out this month, but losing their bell-cow has to hurt.

If any team can figure out a way it's the Cards. But yes, this is a tough, tough loss for them. Just may not be a good karma year for them considering the unfortunate death of Taveras in the off season.

I'm certainly no Cards fan but this guy is a terrific player. Unless they pull a rabbit out of a hat, any player they get to replace him will not be his equal. I think this costs the Cards at least 5 net wins over the course of the season.

Hate to see a workhorse like Wainwright get hurt, but it has to help the Pirates' chances. As was mentioned earlier, if any team can find a way to win, it's the Cards like when they lost Molina for an extended period last year and kept winning.

As for the D'backs, we had them all the way!!!!
