"Yellowstone" TV show fires up Sunday night

and there are plenty of new releases coming with daylight savings time. Time to put a fire in the fireplace and snuggle up with a hot tea and watch some good TV. BTW, Top Gun Maverick was really well done, for those who have yet to see it.

Yellowstone is easily the best scenery porn TV on.

There are some message board game day trolls who need to be taken to the Train Station - if you know what I mean

Rewatched season 4 finale as a refresher last night
I felt like they kind of took the year off last year. Most of it was interpersonal relationships but there was no real existential threat to the family: Beth and Rip's relationship, Jamie's on-again, off-again relationship with the Duttons. Kayce and Monica's struggles with Native American culture and the Duttons. Jimmy's delivery as a true cowboy and his girlfriends. I suspect that is going to change this year based on the teasers.

While I understand that perspective compared to previous seasons and agree - the season 4 opener "shootout" was one of the most intense cinematic scenes I have watched. Right up there with the border crossing scene from Sicario.

I believe the direction season 4 took was an intentional move to make sure the show wasn't just viewed as an action based "shoot-em-up" type series. While the majority of the season was admittedly "slower", it was still some of the best writing on TV and exposed the viewing audience deeper into the topics you list. And it is just so visually stunning the way it is filmed!

good points. I also wonder if the season was to draw in more women in a "hallmark movies" kind of a way.

Interesting premier last night. Obviously setting a bunch of story lines up for a slow burn over the course of the season.

Beyond that, I spend a fair amount of my professional life dealing with marketing and advertising issues, so I often watch the ads fairly closely. On that front, I will note that the ad campaigns that they were running (boots, clothing) were fascinating -- basically, stars of the show doing ads while the show is running, with direct reference to their experience doing the show in an almost 'interview' style. Perhaps one of the tightest "tie-in" campaigns I recall seeing. And really interesting psychology -- "we pretend to be working cowboys, and you can too!"

It’s must watch TV but I was put off by the accident scene. Very hard to believe she’s that reckless…
I would agree. I also have a hard time believing out there that Tate at his age doesn't know how to drive and would have been the one driving her to meet the ambulance.

Notice where the cowboys asked for Buffalo Trace whiskey and then, lo and behold a few minutes later, an ad for buffalo trace whiskey?

Who is up to date on Season 5? I’m 1 behind, but this is just brutal so far - no real advances to the story, the worthless meadow musings, the ridiculous girl fight, the lame-brain political interjections.

I’d be really happy if: (1) Beth gets whacked; and (2) the Duttons lose their ranch. Besides Kayce, they’re all a bunch of criminal shitheads. I mean, if they’re going to be boot wearing Sopranos, stop with glorifying these aholes because they have a beautiful ranch and get going with more action and violence.

I won't disagree. however, the show has really made a big splash with their cinematography. I just read a story about Nick Faldo who watched the show and said "dammit, I am moving to Montana" and now lives in Bozeman. So I don't mind the cinematography. There is also a lot of background on why Rip, Dutton and the rest are so tight.

I didn't like the girl fight at all and you have to understand what drives Beth. . I actually don't like girl fights as they are pretty unrealistic. Show me a 120 lb gal that can beat up a guy? They just don't have the leverage. Regardless, She is really angry about not being able to procreate.

The next episode sets up the rest of the season, no spoilers.

lastly, Taylor Sheridan may be too thin now will all of his other ventures. Along with Yellowstone, he's got Tulsa King, 1883, 1923 and Mayor of Kingstown running.

Lastly, I've got a huge crush on Monica Dutton/Kelsey Asbille. She's taken some heat for portraying a native american when she is really Chinese. When she got the show she claimed to have some Cherokee blood (why does everyone who claims to be NA claim it is Cherokee?) but the Cherokee nation said they have no record of her or her family.

Haha re: Cherokee claims. Every Playboy playmate who wasn’t blond-haired, blue-eyed seemingly claimed part Cherokee

How many more times are we going to watch; A. Jaime try to take down his daddy thru outside influence?
B. Beth and Jaime fight? Really burnt out with these same recycled storylines.

I’m dreading the dancing horses and Taylor Sheridan showing off in his smedium tshirt. We get it - your agent has a Hollywood hookup for HGH and roids

I figured once he fully inserted himself last year he'd be in every episode this year. No doubt, he's talented. Also no doubt, if his d*%k was as big as his ego, he'd be a pornstar.
