One thing to note this week, UNI Open results were not included in these rankings, I'm just finishing up getting those entered this morning.

Very little movement this week in the rankings. Looks like the "injured" flag has been removed from Seth Gross, so he's back at #1 at 133, while all other wrestlers slid down a spot.

Hey @andegre I'm having a bit of trouble w/ the left sidebar on wrestestat on my latest Firefox. It loads partially scrolled down, so "Donate" and WrestleTrak" are obscured, and it seem like I can't scroll it back to the top. Seems to be fine in other browsers, but I thought you'd want to know (especially since the donate link is hidden).

VERY good to know, thank you! Downloading Firefox now...

Edit: Ugh, that's real bad, thanks for pointing it out...I'll work on a fix today.

I'm hardly a CSS guru, but it seems to work fine without the "top: 0" declaration for .sidebar, FWIW.

Thanks again, I've got a fix for this in, the code should be deployed in the next 15 minutes or so.

Actually, it's a known issue with Firefox not recognizing the "sticky" properties that are used, here's what I found: https://github.com/twbs/bootstrap/issues/25415

Let me re-phrase, you're right, the top property wasn't being acknowledged. I also noticed another "sticky" type property that Firefox wasn't recognizing either.

My fix/hack was to just do padding-top on Firefox browsers only.

It's really hard to take a ranking seriously that has a 8-1 kid (Eierman) ranked over 10-0 McKenna, when McKenna beat him head to head, 6-2, two weeks ago...

Same with Ashanault & Jordan.

Havent you been paying attention... Eiremans algo is worth more rankin points than Joeys rhythm, or sumpin like that.

Wow. A shout out to Cascading Style Sheets on a wrestling board. You guys never cease to amaze me. Make sure the code is in a git repo, Greg. (Why is there no geek-face emoji?)

Don't worry, it is ;)

By the way, I found out via @obrats that there's still another issue...my css files are not getting re-retrieved on new changes (cache-busting is broken).

If you were already using Firefox and still don't see those menu items, hold down the shift key, then click the refresh button and all should be well.

For the umpteenth time, as easy as I can make it.
1. Wrestlestat is a score based on a wrestler's entire career.
2. It is not good for recent results, nor H2H results.

McKenna and Eierman's records are similar, but Eierman's career bonus rate is low 60's versus McKenna's high 40's. And, without looking, I'll bet Ashnault and Jordan are similar.

McKenna's ELO score is 1487 and Eierman's is 1499, pretty close.

And, in the simplest terms possible, I'll patiently wait for your algorithm/ranking that we'll all be able to take seriously.

I forgot to mention today that I made another enhancement. I don't remember if I mentioned it, or if someone requested it, but there is now a toggle for tournaments on whether it is an "official" tournament on the schools schedule. If you toggle it to "UNofficial", the both the team and wrestler participant pages will show all of the non-starters, and non-injured wrestlers on those pages.

For example, if Aaron Brooks was on your roster this year while participating at Midlands, then you'd be able to add that tournament as an unofficial event on the schools profile, and then he would show up on the wrestler participants page.

I just updated one [past] tournament in the system so far as I haven't looked at what's coming up yet.

Example: Lindenwood Open (I've got Iowa marked as unofficial)

Team Participants: https://www.wrestlestat.com/event/19797/participants/teams

Wrestler Participants: https://www.wrestlestat.com/event/19797/participants/wrestlers

Understood, but IMHO more recent results, particularly head to head, SHOULD be given more weight in the algorithm.

Then go to Flo, AWN, TOM, Trackwrestling, Intermat and WrestlingbyPirate. They all take recency and head to head into account. I just don't understand why people want yet another ranking service to spit out the same thing as the other six. And, if there was an eighth, they would want that one too be the same, too.

Wrestlestat offers something the others don't, a career ranking.

If you want a career ranking then why not wait until their careers are over.

Hartzie - think of it as the old New York Times Sagarin football rating. UPI, AP etc would all have Alabama as #1, while Sagarin would have Tulane or some such silliness.

If you want a ranking service that takes recency into account, why don't you look at the other six that are available? Isn't 6 enough?

I like looking at wrestlestat as a career ranking service because 1) it's different 2) it's fun to look at and 3) just like every other ranking service, it doesn't mean squat in the grand scheme of things.

When using the dual comparisons the Iowa starters always show up and even pull incredible upsets like Stoll over Cassar and Desanto over RBY. Fiction can be fun!
