Yes it has. I live in the Seattle area so was quite interested in your post. Immediately Googled and the hoax links popped up. It took a couple minutes for the local news to break in with the story.

Paul Allen looked the stereotypical nerd. He was an interesting guy certainly. Not many guys can claim they dated Mick Jagger's ex-wife, Jerry Hall. Just a guess, but one of the characteristics Jerry Hall may have been attracted to was his $billion + net worth.

I found his interest in ocean exploration something I would have loved to be able to pursue the way he did- definitely a rich man's game. He owned (and really used) two mega yachts.
