These things are kind of BS..two previous employers HR departments begged employees to fill out surveys to make the company one of the "top places to work". There is no science to it. It is like when Pizza Hut wins the local "best pizza places". It is just a matter of figuring out how to get the most number of votes.

Those employers would have a big ice cream/pizza party when they won. Many people vote to get a free dinner and some chunk monkey ice cream.
