Will USC really hire a coach that is 2-14 lifetime vs Top Ten Teams?

JAMES FRANKLIN

vs. Top 25 Opponents —
11-14 at Penn State, 1-7 at Vanderbilt, 12-21 overall. 6-3 since 2019, 11-10 since 2016. 2-8 in true road games against Top 25 opponents, 5-10 counting road, bowl and neutral site games.

vs. Top 10 Opponents — 2-8 at Penn State, 0-5 at Vanderbilt, 2-13 overall. Wins came in 2016: a 24-21 upset of No. 2 Ohio State at home, and a win over No. 6 Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game in Indianapolis.

vs. Top 5 Opponents — 1-5 at Penn State, 0-3 at Vanderbilt, 1-8 overall. The win? That 2016 upset of Ohio State in a Beaver Stadium Whiteout.

The program was not dead when he took it over. It was trending up. If anything Franklin held it back in his first two years. They were set for a playoff run in 2014 before Franklin showed up with his clown car of bumbling idiots (Donovan, Rahne, Hand, Gattis).
Just stop. Your repetitive posting about this is total BS. Anyone with a brain and an ounce of objectivity knows years 3 and 4 of the sanctions years (Franklin’s first 2 seasons) were going to be the most difficult ones. The reason: Paterno’s leftover players were gone and the impact of the loss of scholarship players were going to adversely impact the play on the field. Anyone who thinks the program was set for a playoff run in 2014 also must think Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny are real too. By the way, in case you were living under a rock and missed it, Franklin’s team won the Big Championship in 2016 which is the first year the team had a full compliment of scholarship players.

I personally think Geiger will always be the one that tried to end up where Ganim did but failed. Basically I think he is a dipshit. He does make some good points in this post:

James Franklin appears to be on the verge of getting a massive new contract from Penn State. It's all still speculation at this point, but come Tuesday, many are expecting Franklin will get a contract potentially for 10 years and upwards of $80 million.
