I watched Fla beat UT last week on the last play of the game. FLA QB tossed a Flutie like TD pass. FLA up 6, no time left on the clock, game over. Why did PSU have to have a point after try last nite? There was no time on the clock, PSU up 2, game over? Thanks guys

Except for overtime. Every touchdown must be followed by an extra point attempt.

Why did we go for two? If a kicked attempt is blocked, it can be returned by the defense and who receive two points fro the score. Therefore, we have a tie game. By going for two all we had to do was snap the ball, catch the ball and take a knee. We used the shotgun because we do not practice snaps from under center.

Fla/UT game was not OT...poster above explained it. Game is over if you are ahead by more than 2 and no time is left. Because PSU was only up 2 an extra pt is called for. Iowa could block the PAT and score 2 and tie it, which is why you go for 2...
