This is a spin off from the PSU basketball thread I started yesterday. On that thread, the same 10 or so names kept being mentioned, because quite honestly, we really only had about 10 players to choose from who were truly elite. I am curious to see those top 5 listings here for FB. Those 5 that pop into my mind, but in no particular order are:

1. Curt Warner
2. Ki Jana Carter
3. Jack Ham
4. John Cappelletti
5. Mike Reed

Wow, now that I listed these 5, I have another 10-20 I could have chosen, and I am sure that some of you will have a completely different top 5 as this is virtually impossible for FB. Remember in your replies, as hard as it may be, list your 5 BEST only!

Re: there's a Mike Reid thats a song writer in Nashville, maybe he's related to

one and the same.

uh? not really the same guy, read or reed or reid his list again**

That's a good list

There were lots of great players of course, but it's hard to argue that any on your list do not belong.

M-Rob.

The guy excelled at many positions, and as our starting QB, simply refused to lose. If it wasn't for the crooked referines, he would have led PSU to a perfect season.

No order: Moore, Reid, Ham, Warner, Arrington......

........ but I think this list has a good chance to change in the coming years.

Too many to chose from, but I will keep it to my "watching" years ...

1. 80s Curt Warner (best PSU RB I've seen)
2. 80s Shane Conlan (tied for best PSU LB I've seen)
3. 90s Kerry Collins (best PSU QB I've seen)
4. 00s MRob (most versatile)
5. 00s Paul Poz (tied for best PSU LB I've seen)
HM. 10s Mike Mauti (for both on AND off the field)

I'm hoping to add Hack and some others in the '10s' five years from now!

Re: uh? not really the same guy, read or reed or reid his list again**

OK, I'll cave into your sarcastic reply and admit I misspelled his name. Yes, it is Mike Reid, but any way you spell it, he was quite the talent (both on the FB field and on the piano).

Any list of all-timers without Mike Reid is bogus, in my book***

+1. Clark was a man among boys. Best athlete to play DL.

Conlan was the best defensive player on the best defense. A defense that won the MNC, carrying an average (for PSU) offense.
Ham was the best LB on very good defenses.
Moore and Warner were the best RB's, with Mitchell and Carter next.
Reid may be the best player to play at PSU.

Next 5:

Arrington
Warner
Mitchell
Capelletti
Engram, best WR. M.Rob would be our best WR had he played his Sr. year....

Bosco2: I'm surprised you or someone else didn't say this about Ted Kwalik!
