Vincenzo Joseph is in the "Not Enough Matches" listing, which explains why he's not in the rankings at 165. This is the first week of the DII, so there are no last week numbers in parenthesis.

Just a reminder that a wrestler must appear in half or more of the rankings to appear in the Average. Schnupp only appears in Wrestle Stat's rankings, which is why he's not in the Average. Cortez just made it, as he appeared in 4 rankings. Also, this is the first week that the Wrestling by Pirate DII was generated, so comparing this week's average to last week's average is not an exact comparison. Lastly, a reminder that that the two computer generated rankings, Wrestling by Pirate DII and Wrestle Stat, usually take some at the beginning of the season to have enough data to become viable rankings.

I have no idea why Vincenzo Joseph is not in the rankings. He's not listed in the "Not Enough Matches" category
Check again? (I didn't change anything, but he's showing there)

For what it's worth, if he had enough matches, he'd be rated #1 at the weight, and the only other "not enough matches" wrestler with a higher would-be rating than Joseph has is iMar.

my bad. I didn't realize that your not-enough-matches listings were done by weight. I saw 2 Penn State indications in that listing, and thought that was all of them -- I never noticed that they were both 125 lbers. I'll edit my earlier comment.

It appears that Cassar is going to have a tough time climbing the ladder. Only guys he hits are Wilcke and Moore. I'm really starting to hate this year's Scuffle field.

He might get some help moving up.

• Rotert and Smith are scheduled to meet Feb 11th, and then you have the Big 12 Championships that will pit Weigel, Smith, and Rotert against one another in some fashion. Smith also gets Haught on Dec 22nd and -- if rumors of Weigel's return are true -- Weigel on Jan 19th. One or two of Rotert/Smith will accumulate losses, with Smith having the most potential matches against Top-8 competitors between the two. Rotert is also scheduled to face #11 Griego on Jan 5th -- not a lock there, given some of Rotert's losses last year.

• Weigel vs. Miklus Jan 22nd, and perhaps at Reno.

• Weigel vs. Iowa on Jan 14th. In Carver. Versus Wilcke . . . or Warner . . . or McRib. Fireworks (or bad sauce).

• Machiavello scheduled to see Haught twice -- once in a dual Feb 16th, then again @ ACC Championships. He also gets Weigel Jan 5th and Moore Feb 18th. Could see Miklus or Weigel @ Reno. Gonna be accumulating some losses.

Other than seeing Weigel once or twice, Miklus has a pretty soft schedule the rest of the way. Moore doesn't seem to have any threats on the horizon, unless perhaps McRib is on the menu (or Cassar & Beazley can work some magic).

But Haught, Weigel, Smith, Rotert, and Machiavello are going to beat on one another (Machiavello having the toughest road). Maybe that allows Cassar to slip in a little higher on the strength of W-L record, especially if he handles Beazley, beats Wilcke, and keeps it close with Moore in the dual and in B1Gs. But who knows whether he sees Wilcke -- it could be Warner or McRib.

I'll be pleased if he gets to #6 or #7. But if he wins a blast-double war against Moore @ B1Gs, then watch out.

Good post!! Only thing to add is that Cassar has to keep winning too...though that's suggested in slush's post.

I saw in Pirate's P4P that Zain only comes in at 18th! I believe he has 6 falls, 1 TF and 1 Major. How could he be 18th? The only thing I could figure is the strength-of-schedule rating. At any rate, that will work itself out as the season goes along.
