Good idea from The Hill. And I must say one of the most scaling articles written on the miserable failure of a human being yet.

IMPEACH BIDEN, RESTORE CIVILIZED SOCIETY!!!

https://thehill.com/opinion/white-h...ith-the-midterms-and-then-bidens-impeachment/

The upcoming midterm elections could represent the most complex political calculus in history. The question is whether a potential Republican majority in the House and Senate, combined with a bloc of pragmatic Democratic senators, might decide to impeach President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Doing so could be the one key to reducing the polarization of American politics and salvaging American civil society.

Joe Biden has set the stage for his demise. The American economy is in a death spiral. Inflation is skyrocketing, and most of the voting public understands that the disaster is because of Biden’s policies. His lame attempts to blame everyone but himself (“conspiracies” among energy companies, auto companies, food companies, irrational consumers, etc.) are falling on deaf ears. The polls are clear: the majority of voters feel Biden is mishandling the economy. His tone-deaf message that more government spending will heal the problem is not resonating with voters.

Pension plans — yes, those plans that provide pensions for teachers, firefighters, police, other public employees, union members and all other private sector workers — are in serious jeopardy. IRA and 401(k) savings are collapsing. Inflation is eating up the incomes and wage gains of all middle-class and low-income workers. The Fed’s rising interest rates will crush the market and further raise the net cost of financing business, houses, cars, etc.

Biden’s energy policies have been a disaster. Every American, every day, sees the results of his policies when they fill up their cars with gas or pay their utility bills. Prices have skyrocketed under Biden and some Americans may be forced to travel less, live more in the dark, have colder homes in the winter and hotter homes in the summer, and suffer more regular blackouts. Biden’s progressive utopia: The New and Primitive Dark Ages.

Additionally, Biden’s Transportation and Treasury leadership have been abject failures at stemming supply chain problems, trade issues, and economic collapse.

Many Black and Hispanic American citizens reportedly are leaving the Democratic Party as they realize that Biden’s illegal and criminal open-border policies have led to millions of illegal immigrants flooding the country, taking away lower-wage jobs and diluting the voting power of minorities. American citizens also realize that these policies are bringing in criminals with illegal drugs, spiking urban crime and drug-related deaths.

The Biden administration’s COVID policies and lockdowns were abject failures and led to accelerated deaths, mental illness, and economic contraction.

Biden’s notion that teachers “own” America’s children, and have as much or more rights than parents in teaching children values and beliefs, is straight from the communist playbook. The Justice Department’s reported branding of upset American parents as “domestic terrorists,” if true, is beyond appalling.

And Biden’s fully incompetent, politically motivated defense and foreign policies and leadership have invited aggression and adventurism by our enemies — which will only get worse.

Most importantly, Biden’s politics and rhetoric, and his weaponization of the Justice Department against ordinary Americans, has been unprecedented in its divisiveness, corrosive to American civil society. His overt support for progressive street riots, burning cities, and physical intimidation of his opponents represents a new low in American democracy.

Biden and Harris need to go now, and the 2022 elections provide a unique opportunity for a desperately needed reset.

Let's wait until after November to have this discussion.

As much as I would like to see both Biden and Harris impeached, it won't happen, at least not a Senate conviction. Most Dems just roll with their radical party. They would have to cross over.

This is why I'm so pessimistic. The things hurting our country the most right now are coming out of the Executive Branch.

Will never happen....and impeach him over what, doing a poor job? How about if R's take over both chambers they actually push for legislation that will improve things.

He is very impeachable. His has a Constitutional duty to enforce the laws of the country. Not controlling our border and illegal immigration is impeachable. Overing up for his son and Magoo’s own culpability in another impeachable offense. His admin has ignored several court orders.

But if both are removed and a new Speaker......McCarthy?.......the media and the country would explode!

It's worse than a poor job. Some might go so far as to say treasonous. What president actively counters his Oath of Office by encouraging illegal immigration, doing nothing for border security, and then spreading illegals throughout the country?

And he does that spreading somewhat covertly -- at night, which makes the whole thing even worse as far as subverting the will of the people.

Biden's handlers did one really smart thing. Biden is inoculated against impeachment. The vaccine is called the Harris vaccine. They picked a VP who was even more radical than Biden, dumb as a stone, and lazy to boot. We are stuck with Biden until January 2025.

Did you read the article?

The author is talking about impeaching Biden to save us from TRUMP 2024. This is a democrat plan.... lol....

Without such a reset, the future is clear. Donald Trump almost assuredly will return as president. Americans will choose the devil they know, rather than the devil they no longer can stand. It is time for aggressive, “radical moderation,” and the first step is for the next House and Senate to impeach, convict and remove Biden and Harris.

How would that work?

If Republicans take control of the House, they can move quickly on Articles of Impeachment. The Biden administration has been breaking the law to a level that dramatically exceeds the threshold of “high crimes.” The immigration policies alone qualify for summary judgment. The weaponization of the Justice Department follows close behind. Various Republican groups are assembling a list of investigations into rampant law-breaking by the Biden administration.

Harris, with her portfolio covering illegal immigration and her overt support for urban violence, is an equally guilty target.

Of course, the indication on Hunter Biden’s laptop that Joe Biden likely was involved in potential criminal activity involving payoffs from foreign enemies could become additional evidence of high crimes.

The Senate should convict and remove Biden and Harris before the end of January 2023. The House Speaker would then succeed Biden — most Americans would agree that anyone would be a vast improvement — and, in the spirit of national reconciliation, a hard-as-nails moderate Democrat should be chosen as vice president. Two obvious candidates would be Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) or Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.), with Manchin getting the nod because he’d be one-term.

That’s a pretty stupid article. The Constitution as currently amended would automatically elevate the Speaker should both the P and VP be removed from office simultaneously. By the end of Jan 2023 the House will be solidly Republican and have a R Speaker. No way they appoint any D as VP or to name one as POTUS.

And if the President is removed first then the VP becomes president and then appoints a new VP that requires approval of a simple majority of the House and the Senate. Again, the Rs will control at least the House and no D will be approved. Same is true if the VP is removed first.

The best hope for the Ds is to remove both.....if they still control the Senate. Then the Rs will be forced to nominate some wishy washy R that would be a terrible candidate in 2024. Or the Ds support a strong R so that Trump will have a rough time getting the nomination in 2024. Questions do they hate Trump enough to support a strong R as a replacement President?

Then imagine Trump winning anyway..........

Truthfully, it’s better for America to endure 2 more years of Biden if at all possible.

In fact, even should the Republicans win control of the Congress during the mid terms (and I’m not counting my chickens before they’re hatched), I honestly don’t see the Democrat Party changing gears at all. They’re being totally controlled by a bunch of “way out” Socialist elitists, globalists, and nut cases, and Biden and everyone in his Administration are radical left wing nuts and they will continue to push their radical and nonsensical philosophy. A Republican midterm victory won’t fix America, but will just slow down the rate of damage done to the country by these Democrat radicals.

And there is no way the country can prosper under these nonsensical leftist ideas and the more the Democrats identify with these crazy ideas, the more people will take notice and the Democrat Party will permanently destroy themselves from being a serious alternative for a long time.

My sense is that there is about 1/3 of the country that will continue to support these Democrat buffoons no matter how incompetent and destructive they are, but the vast majority of America will wake up to the train wreck that is the Democrat Party as they try to make the US into Venezuela.

The only question is can the country take much more of this clown show and will the country survive the absolute stupidity until there is a sufficient awaking before the damage is irreversible.

Incidentally, setting aside impeachment (which I've made my views clear on above), I took a peek at where things seem to stand re: redistricting. Looks like there are only two places left to finish (NY/NH), aside from some other stray litigation here and there that isn't likely to do much.

Working off of 538's "preference" method, they're showing 201 R leaning seats, and I'm going to assume (conservatively) that that will go up to about 207 after NY/NH. Further, there will be about 40 competitive seats. After looking at the (slight) historical leans in those swing districts, you're looking at an R number a little over 220. Stated differently, looking solely at the "strict" partisan lean of the districts, a House majority worth lean republican.

My guess is that the lean measure may be a bit conservative in that it is based in significant part on 2020 data (ie, the districts probably don't lean quite as left as the data might say), when Trump hatred was likely a bigger deal than in a midterm where he won't be on the ballot. I suspect if you tried to adjust for that you'd end up with something like 225 R-leaning districts. Now of course, that is before you take into account broader dynamics like presidential (dis)satisfaction, midterm effects, and the economy. I'd bet that's conservatively worth another 5-10. So my current baseline is somewhere between 230-235 R.

Inflation seems to me to be likely to be a relatively fixed variable at this point. We're not going to have any 5-month magic bullets for it. The three non-fixed variables are (1) who are the candidates, (2) abortion and (3) whether, seeing the writing on the wall, D's get together and overplay their hand legislatively this summer.

When this much blood is in the water the conservative estimate is conservative. There are other factors like POTATUS and his shenanigans.
