That's a riot! Mayor had to override the City Council to enable Walmart to come in to DC. No worries, I'm sure the Unions, who pour money in to the Council members pockets, will build stores and provide jobs for the community. o_O

Talk about a hate/love switcheroo. Barack should just open up his own stores there. Cal them Obamamart. Employees won't have to work hard and get paid much more than private sector jobs, can't get fired and enjoy full pension benefits after twenty years. Uh, we already have that and it's called working for the federal government

Perhaps the local Korean merchants can partner with Al Sharpton and others in the 'community' to get something going there. There are a number of very good real estate developers in DC who were on the BOD of the bank I helped start in DC. We invested in Ward 7 and did very well there.
