I don’t think I agree with Trump, necessarily, on this one. I think Wallace could have handled the situation a little better but I am not really sure he should apologize. The Confederate flag is a slightly different matter. It shouldn’t be banned from races, in my opinion. I just don’t like most forms of censorship. I think rap songs filled with the N-word are ridiculous, but I don’t want them banned from live concerts, for example.

Because someone pulled a fire alarm when there wasn't a fire.......... They may have wanted there to be a fire.

"Someone" pulled a fire alarm? It wasn't Bubba. Why does Trump go after him specifically?

    Here is what Nascar says:

“Our ultimate conclusion for this investigation is to ensure that this never happens again, that no one walks by a noose without recognizing the potential damage it can do,” Phelps said. “Going forward, our efforts are best spent on making sure every competitor feels safe and every guest feels welcome. I would also like to reinforce that what we did see at Talladega in pre-race on Monday, our drivers, crews and officials proudly demonstrated that we are united in the belief that there is no place for racism in our sport.”

After Sunday’s discovery, NASCAR officials asked each track to sweep through respective garages. Across the 1,684 garage stalls at 29 tracks, NASCAR found only 11 total had a pull-down rope tied in a knot and only one noose — the one discovered Sunday in the No. 43 garage stall.

Wallace has become more outspoken in recent weeks as he has championed causes to fight racial injustice. Other drivers in the NASCAR garage have rallied behind his message and showed their support Monday before the GEICO 500 at Talladega.

“Bubba Wallace and the 43 team had nothing to do with this,” Phelps reiterated Thursday. ” … I want to thank Bubba Wallace and everyone at Richard Petty Motorsports. Specifically, I want to thank Bubba for his leadership over this past three weeks. Bubba has done nothing but represent this sport with courage, class and dignity and he stood tall for what he believes in. And we all need to stand with him. I know I’m going to.”

    What should he have done?

Well, I think driving a car that advertises a racist, hateful, far-left group (BLM) was a poor choice, but it isn’t like I hate him for it. BLM is an extremely divisive group and I think a lot of their actions and comments in the past make them a poor choice to align with.

Hey, I tried being reasonable and answered your question, dick. Don’t act as if BLM hasn’t done a lot to earn a poor reputation. Do a little research so you can stop being so ignorant.

LOL. There is no shortage of unreconstructed racists in the Republican Party. I imagine you would tell me that you are not one of them.

Similarly, there are surely a number of communists in the Democratic Party. I am telling you that I am not one of them.

Should my assertion be given any less credence than yours?

I give some weight to the First Amendment argument, but the Confederate flag is a symbol of traitors.

NASCAR has banned it for good reason. Trump says NASCAR’s ratings are down as a result. In fact, ratings for the last NASCAR race are up forty percent (40%) over the same race a year ago.

I really don’t care what it symbolizes for you or anyone else. That isn’t really the point, with regards to censorship. I thought liberals were generally against censorship. What happened to you?

Dude: This is not government censorship. This is a private, for-profit corporation (NASCAR) making a business decision. NASCAR has concluded, rightly or wrongly, that the Stars and Bars is disastrous PR, and bad for business. It really is OK for you to occasionally disagree with Trump.

Fine, but if it’s not government censorship, there is no First Amendment issue.

Yes...it should. Racists (from both parties) are just assholes and have no chance of doing any major damage to the economy or our institutions. They are rightfully scoffed at and ridiculed.

Communists, on the other hand, have been given a free pass. Your party and their accomplices in the media and Hollywood just look the other way and/or flat out agree with many of their philosophies. That's very disturbing. They have effectively taken over higher education and have infiltrated our public high schools, middle schools and even grade schools. They are actively attempting to overthrow our cities...our police, our local, state and federal governments... looking to throw away our constitution in the name of social justice expediency. Many in your party are walking lockstep with these destroyers of liberty.

So yes....your assertion should be given WAY less credence than mine. no offense.

I don't think they have a board of directors and a CEO. You can't really inform an idea or movement.

You used the term censorship, which suggested the First Amendment to me, but I’ll concede that it is possible for a non-governmental actor to “censor” something.

In this case, I would call it a sound budiness decision. I thought you liked the private business market. You know, Adam Smith’s invisible hand. Should NASCAR not be able to make or enforce this decision? Cab’t you show your displeasure by declining to patronize NASCAR events?

Maybe it is past your bedtime and you are starting to fade. I didn’t say NASCAR couldn’t ban the flags. I just said they shouldn’t, because I don’t like censorship. In fact, I hate censorship...period. I also hate the mixing of sports and politics. It is a really shitty trend, IMO.

Joe McCarthy...really? Isn’t that who your party has been channeling for the last 3 plus years with the Trump/Russia collusion idiocy? Look in the mirror, Sunshine!

By the way...just out of curiosity. Have you been paying attention to the activities in our (democrat-run) cities lately?

Everyone is laughing at you. You’re defending the indefensible. Confederate flags. Racist speeches. Treason. Russian bounty gate has been successfully knocked off the front page. You were alright with it though.
This President has it all. And you defend it. Would you say you are on the right side of history?

My wife is a teacher. A fantastic hard working teacher. I hear it all the time from her how lazy so many kids are. We are not a communist country. Nowhere close. We never will be. You guys have been wrong for a long time. You have been saying your communist crap for a long time. Those kids are years ago are now voters. And we are nowhere near a communist country.

Sadly that is the party cry for the far right to scare it's people straight....it works on some. This is 60 year old propaganda BS that older people had shoved down their throat so they don't any better and still live in fear. Meanwhile the whole reason it was shoved down their throat as Russia....and we've seen how hard Trump is on them. Could you imagine if someone put bounties on troops heads and Reagan was in office....they knew better. They don't respect the US or it's current leader....bottom line. But hey...about those communist.

I'm sure your wife is a fine teacher, and I agree, the kids are lazy because they are not pushed by their parents. Too many parents want to be friends with their kids and don't have the time or energy to teach the kids at an early, early age...when they really need the good habits to be ingrained.

I also know that there is a very different curriculum being pushed in the schools today...that is very different from the three R's that should be the primary focus in grade school. I can't get into this much right now (work beckons), but suffice it to say that I have heard my nieces and nephews spout some seriously anti-American stuff after a certain group of "teachers" got to them in middle school.

It's a three pronged strategy: 1) stoke the base with fear and racism, 2) suppress the vote and if all else fails 3) he screams rigged.
