This one felt a little easier to compile.
1. Seinfeld
2. The office
3. Friends
4. Frazier
5. Cheers
HM- it’s alway sunny in Philly and Hello Ladies (only 1 season but excellent)

Seinfeld
M*A*S*H
Frasier
Chuck
Psych

I have a soft spot in my heart for Chuck and Psych. The secondary characters were always great.

Hmm, this one is harder for me. Today, I’ll go with

  2. Schitt’s Creek
  3. Chapelle
  4. Ted Lasso
  5. Curb

I was always a MASH fan, but recently I tried to re-watch and could not get past a few episodes. Hawkeye is really not a nice guy, IMHO. Hmmm, does this bring it back to wrestling?

Barney Miller show IMHO way over looked. Entire show was basically in two rooms. The squad room and Barney's office.
If you're going back that far, you should add All In The Family to the list. Cutting edge stuff for the time. We always had to go to bed early that night so my parents could watch it. Too racy for the kids!

Mash changed a bit when Alda increased his writing contribution IMO. What about Hogan's Heroes and F Troop?

Loved BM too!

I’ll go
Seinfeld
Taxi
Cheers
Family Guy
Three Stooges (Hey at one time it was a series)

Full disclosure never watched Curb or Office
and I Love Lucy WAS on my list till I saw yekruts

Absolutely! You’d never get away with half that stuff on TV today.

Some most excellent examples above!

Totally ignoring a top 5. Just for fun a trip down childhood memory lane there were some great ones that are now close to forgotten.

Get Smart

Gilligan's Island
The Beverly Hillbillies
Green Acres
F Troop
The Munsters
Batman
Leave it to Beaver
Sanford and Son
The Jeffersons
Laugh in
The Tonight Show (w/ Johnny)
Saturday Night Live pre-wokeness, now it is unwatchable

Seinfeld
Ted Lasso
Monty Python’s Flying Circus
Everybody Loves Raymond
Modern Family

A lot of overlap, so I'll just mention two that haven't been put up there yet:

Rick and Morty
Sifl and Olly - the most Crescent Fresh of the bunch!

I've been binging on The Burns and Allen Show. After 70 years it's still the funniest show available. I've tried a few of the shows in the past, like The Mary Tyler Moore show. They just didn't age well.
But George and Gracie are funny every time, I kid you not.

Also like Fawlty Towers.

What's with the modern stuff? Anybody like the Honeymooners, Crusader Rabbit and Rags the Tiger, Red Skelton, Uncle Miltie, Sargent Bilko?

Did you sit around the AM radio listening to those shows as a kid?
A black and white TV when I was about 6 and older. Re-watching Crusader Rabbit gave me an appreciation of the wonderful political digs they worked into the cartoons. The atrocious puns made me a huge fan of wordplay. Pogo drew my interest for decades.

I think Taxi had some great unique comic talent. Kaufman was just off the wall. Devito was a great fit for his role. I think the episode when Christopher Lloyd in a flashback sequence, fries his brain eating a hash brownie when he was a student at Harvard might be one of the funniest 5 minutes of comedy I remember. A little tibit of the scene, his college roommate at Harvard was played by an unknown actor at the time, Tom Hanks.
