my buddy showed me pictures of them shooting carp on the susquehanna with their bows.

By snag I meant catch with a jig, shallow diver, lure, wacky worm ect. I usually toss them back unless we are having a Walleye feast. I personally have never "snagged" any fish. Wrong terminology on my part
Walleye are good eats. Have not caught many in my time.
 
Yes, and I specifically mentioned snagging paddlefish only, which is legal now in Iowa.

And in Missouri as well. I would never do it myself, but the first day of snagging season is nearly as anticipated as the first day of spring turkey season in the Lake of the Ozarks area. I hear the “meat” is horrible, but I am told the roe, which is like caviar, and is also very expensive.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that they're fished only for the eggs.
