Remember watching videos of Freiermuth and how good that quarterback looked? Well the Steelers were impressed too and invited him to a rookie tryout camp. Kid is from Slippery Rock U and graduated last year. But since open tryouts were cancelled due to Covid he never got a shot. Now he will get a shot, just like the Duck a couple years ago.

2019 ALL-PSAC FOOTBALL WESTERN DIVISION FIRST TEAM (COACHES): QB Roland Rivers III, Slippery Rock, Sr., Ellenwood, Ga./Martin Luther King,...Rivers earns his second straight first team ALL-PSAC honor. He broke the SRU single-season record for touchdown passes with 40 and also set the SRU career touchdown passing record with 68 and counting. This season, he has completed 72.1 percent of his passes for 3,409 yards with 40 touchdowns and just six interceptions. Rivers was named the MVP of the PSAC Championship game after throwing for 302 yards and four touchdowns in the win over Kutztown. Could be the new McAndrew Board Bragalone.

Be right back.

Haskins' 40 was 5.04. I believe he and Haskins will be camp arms. They just re-signed Rudolf and Dobbs.
Just a WAG on my part but I think The Steelers have more in mind for Haskin's than "camp arm".
Whether he (Haskin's) can "deliver" (no pun intended...ok a little) is another story.

Could be. They may have signed Dobbs as insurance in case Haskins doesn't get it.

Random question here....does anyone know what Rob Bolden, Paul Jones, and Kevin Newsome are doing these days? I don’t think they are playing football anymore, but did any of them try out or attempt a pro career?

Stolen from Wikipedia:

Bolden went undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft. After the draft, he accepted an invitation to attend the Detroit Lions rookie mini-camp on a tryout basis. He was not offered a contract at the end of the rookie mini-camp.

Jones plays for the WPa Wildcatz of the Gridiron Developmental Football League
