SIAP- Futures schedule announced

We will be paying Nevada $1.45MM and San Jose State $1.5MM.

Inflation is a thing, of course, 2020 dollars aren't 2017 dollars. But our paydays to these garbage MWC teams aren't too far off what Alabama paid their MWC opponents. Their MWC opponents were actually somewhat decent football teams, as well (for instance, they weren't a combined 4-19 in 2017 in games not played against each other).

Nice to see Barbour already spending future conference revenue sharing. Maybe those teams will be better than Georgia State and Kent State who Bama has on the schedule and will be paying $1.25 mm and $1.75mm respectively

Two losses without enough quality wins to make up for it or bad losses and you're out. That's what we've learned. You can't get blown out by Iowa or Michigan when you lose 2 games.

Yes, scheduling Bama, USC & Oklahoma would be insane but I don't think anyone's legitimately asking for that. All we have to do is schedule better MWC teams. 1 legit opponent (not Pitt) from a power 5 or ND, one quality team from CUSA/AAC/MWC and then throw in a MAC team or Army. That's reasonable. Nevada and SJSU aren't cutting it IMO
Easy rule...if you’re in a tough conference you schedule easy OOC games, if you’re in an easy conference, you schedule tough OOC games...simple as that. One tough OOC game is plenty for a team in the Big 10 east.

Ohio State and it didn’t even take three tough OOC games, it only took one loss to one tough OOC team. Two losses have tossed everyone out.
This is truth. No two loss team has ever made the playoffs. The single precedent that has held for the first four playoffs.

I would take Colorado State and Fresno State in a second.
Those schools also played real games unlike us. Alabama played FSU. Georgia played ND & Geogia Tech. Oklahoma and Ohio State played each other
If we played "legit top 10 team on paper" and Colorado State + a MAC school I wouldn't complain. If we're going to play Va Tech, BGSU & Nevada I'm not happy. You can be happy with it but not everyone is going to be

They're playing @VT which is an incredibly difficult place to play..they were top 10-15 almost all year last year and in their Conference Championship game the year before that and you're not happy with that schedule? I think you're bitching just to bitch at something.

Then explain why Ohio State's scheduling
2018: Oregon State & TCU. 2019 they took an easy year with only Cincinnati. 2020/21: Oregon--down now but could rebound--a power when scheduled. 2022/2013 Notre Dame and Texas

Or Michigan's scheduling
2020/2021: Washington & Virginia Tech...they schedule Va Tech plus another P5 team - a legit one in Washington

let's not pretend we can't schedule two legit teams

our scheduling is simply lazy and uninspired. Either we don't actually believe we're good enough to win those kinds of games on a regular basis or we're trying to take the easy route. When we get left out for a two loss teams because of our schedule none of you guys defending this should complain

Different financial situations. OSU's basketball program nets about $15mm. PSU's less than a third of that. If Michigan has cash flow deficiencies, it's AD can get them covered with fewer than five phone calls, Gene Smith's fingers have to do more walking, but he can get it done. Barbour can't.

Oregon State is awful. They could rebound, but so could teams we scheduled. When a two loss team jumps a one loss P5 team from a tough conference, let me know.

Oregon State is also a one and done (PSU has them on the same basis not that long ago). TCU is in Jerrah World and OSU is getting $5mm for its trouble.
