Shane Grifith?

any idea if the weights were flat out or was there an allowance (not necessarily for day2 but the whole event)

There won't be weekly updates. The kid is still waiting to see if Stanford can be saved and that could be gaining momentum actually!

If not, he already said he'll make a decision at the end of June after his visits. There's nothing to update.

Thank you. I'm not sure why you think it is funny. I didn't know so I asked. If that's funny then I suppose you are Laughing. Have a nice day.

I’ll take Joe Lee, rather we stick to a commitment, the Lee family has went all in on PSU . Spare me the best man , always open competition speech
I largely agree with you--but you are presuming to know the nature of the commitment that was made. I honestly wouldn't be suprised at all to learn that our guys earn their scholarship based on who makes the post season (or who scores points) the previous year, or something like that. Cael doesn't seem like the type to make commitments he doesn't intend on keeping, but he does seem to generally employ the best man, open competition method.... And yet, for instance, Both Nevills stayed, the Lees seem very happy here, etc. Even Verkleeren seems to be making his move on the best possible terms.

Beard over Hoffman, Nevills over Haines , Is what it is when you’re the top dog I guess, I just have confidence in Lee and his future I guess

This, Cael is sticking to a commitment. His commitment was to provide Joe an environment where he gets the training and coaching to be the best he can be as a wrestler (which could very well coincide with winning the spot and becoming an AA or a champion) and to have a team and coaches that looks out for him as more than just a wrestler. Joe will get that whether he's a champion one day or if he never wrestlers another postseason again.

Why are you asking to be spared from the "best man" competition? It's rather hard to believe that psu has won 8 of the last 10 with backups?

Who knows what is promised behind closed doors. I highly, highly doubt it's a starting spot though.

It's more like selling the opportunity, and offering to help in every way imaginable, but Cael has been clear that the wrestler has a huge part to play. All involved know how this works.

Did [The Butthorn] get banned or something? He disappeared. He was pretty harmless.
Like Princess Amidala, he lost the will to live (on this forum). When a moderator gave him warnings, he gave the moderator the figurative finger.

So when you need surgery, you're not looking for the best doctor? When your family suv needs new brakes, you don't take it to the best mechanic?

Everyday life is an open competition.

I just got word from Mr. Butthorn. He wanted me to pass along this message:

I told Clarenc that was over the line, but he insisted. Apologies to anyone that is offended.

(Seriously though, mods feel free to delete if needed)

I’m sure he’s getting a good laugh, as he should. But his name is still Clare NC Butthorn, so you gotta find a way to laugh, amirite?

How soon until someone starts a thread dedicated to Iceland (and other travel destinations), barbecue stands and smokers, and craft beer/breweries? ;)

Do you know how many doctors there are? And they don’t even have weight classes. The best one is going to be pretty special. Probably only Bordeaux can afford the best doctor! :)

I'm down with letting this thread go off the rails, can we agree next time there is legitimate news on Griffith, we just start a new thread?

FWIW - the poster on 247 who last said Michigan is out and PSU leads just posted again. Not really an update but he just said Shane will be at Stanford until end of August (to graduate) and he could make his decision by late May but it could be later (Shane said late June in his Rokfin interview with David Mirikitani) Idk why, I feel the longer this goes on, the better it is for Penn State.

No changes from what he last said on who leads. Obviously I think with the recent meetings, the kid might be gaining optimism on the program being saved.

I think they pull a rabbit out of the hat and save the program. However, that doesn't necessarily mean all the kids stay though.

I agree, the longer this plays out without him deciding the better.

Just sweating out the Stanford appeals process has cost him 5lb of walking around weight. Despite the reports,... 165 baby.

Dog, what is wrong with Bordeaux that he needs to see a Doctor? I don't think I saw a post from him today! Never mind, forgot its Friday and Way past noon! 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

With all the women chasing him, he needs the best doctor, with the best assistants, to type in those Viagra prescriptions with no errors whatsoever. :)
