Way, way too many negative numbers to cover in a post here. "
"This paper provides the most detailed and comprehensive data on relocations of California
business headquarters between 2018 and 2021. We document that these headquarter exits have
more than doubled in 2021".

"The Tax Foundation’s 2021 State Business Tax Climate Index – which evaluates taxes in five
categories in calculating a state’s overall ranking – lists California at No. 49, the second-worst
with only New Jersey trailing...
The length of time required for one fast-food
restaurant to obtain a building permit in Los Angeles is 285 days while it’s only 60 in Texas.
And permitting difficulties aren’t limited to the state’s large cities."

An exceptionally idiotic law is California's overtime law: "
An exceptionally costly feature is California’s overtime law. ... However,
California requires that non-exempt employees must receive one and one-half times the regular
rate of pay for all hours worked over 8 hours in any workday and over 40 hours in the workweek.

Eight hours of labor constitutes a day’s work, and employment beyond eight hours requires the
employee to be compensated for the overtime. "

Also, Lafayette Bear will be pleased to know that Ahia ranks second in new capital projects (even before Intel project in NE Columbus was announced) with 419 projects while Calif only has 103. On a per capita basis Calif ranks 46th and Ahia first. (See pp 8 & 9)
