Roster weights

Updated after spring practice?

Serious beef on the O-Line in particular
I count 20 guys on this roster (which includes walk-ons) at 300# or more

DTs
  • PJ 323 senior
  • Cole Brevard 318 Fr
  • Hansard 313 Sr
  • Derrick Tangelo, 307 Sr
  • Fatorma Mulbah, 305, Fr
  • Devon Ellies, 304 Soph
  • Darkwa, 299, Soph
  • Izzard, 294 Fr
  • Hawkins, 288 Jr
  • Vanover, 276 Fr
  • Beamon, 272, Soph
  • Furmanek, 272, Soph

IMHO, this is the crew that will dictate our success through most of the season.

Eating his way to DT? I know the kid is thick but 237 is a bit much at 5-10.
Fine with me with 2 major qualifiers for Cain:
  • Doesn't lose speed
  • His ankles hold up
Running back position looks deep, which is good, but we want to see someone become a standout

Worried about dt position...simply can't go 4 quarters with a guy giving up 50 pounds. Ohio State, Wisconsin, Indiana, etc...will blow him 5 yards off the ball every down.

If he can't get up in 285 range and stay there, we might see him used more @ DE and only DL in definite passing situations. JMO.
