Roll Call - Who's heading to the Byrd this weekend?

My wife, daughter, and her boyfriend went and it was a horrible experience. I had to stay home because my Dad was in very poor health. At the third quarter two rows about 10 people of drunken fans in the PA section were escorted out of the stadium. My family was moved away to another section. My wife could have pressed charges against the woman whom was touching my daughter's boyfriend. It was the first away game, and the family lives in MD. Older brother is a Penn State Graduate.

We went to the game 2 years ago... our experience was pretty good. Lots of PSU fans around us and the MD fans were low key and joked around with the PSU fans. I was pleasantly surprised...

My son and I got our tickets yesterday; I'm guessing it's about a 45 minute drive from Fairfax. I went to the 2015 game in Baltimore. It was a major drunk fest in the section where I sat - not pleasant at all. I'm hoping for better this time.

We were also there and had no problems with Twerps fans. I guess it's hit or miss. They may have been extra excited about winning given the travesty in 2014. I suspect that they'll come to this game hoping to keep the score w/i a 30 point margin.

the 2015 game was played at M&T Bank Stadium, in Baltimore.

PSU fans were out in large numbers for the game. I'm not sure that they were the majority, but they were at least a very substantial minority.

99.9% of the MD fans were fine. I only encountered 1 that was a jerk.

Thanks, Tom.

Heading down Saturday morning from the Reading Area. Just parking in that Terrapin Garage (that doesn’t allow tailgating) Hoping to see a lot of PSU tailgating

Prediction
PSU 38
MD 17

Heading back to central pa from Thanksgiving in NC with weekend stop in DC. Would board suggest grabbing tickets today/tomorrow at online sites or at Stadium/campus Saturday?

Does anyone know what the metro parking lot situation is like on the last 5 stops of the green line on game day? I in the suburbs of Virginia, so I'm either going to have to ride the metro for 1 hr 30 min from end to end or I am going to drive 45 min to one of the stops in MD. For those who have lived around DC longer, do you think I should drive to a closer stop or ride the yellow line from Virginia?

It's free parking on the weekends except for at College Park metro on game days. So I would drive to the end of the green line and park there, that way you don't have to transfer. I don't know how parking is on that end, but if it's like the Maryland end of the green line, there is PLENTY.

Was at the game at Ravens Stadium, don't recall even running into a Terps fan. Will be there Saturday with Mrs. Banger and another couple...WE ARE!!

Me personally, if you're close to the end of the yellow line in VA, why wouldnt you just ride it from that end all the way to College Park? No way it's an hr and half, if it is, I'd be shocked.

Unable to make this game but was able to purchase 8 tickets for my son and a group of his friends to go in my place ...... no doubt they will be making more noise them I could. WE ARE !!!!

Terp fan here. Take the Metro all the way to the College Park stop. Free shuttle buses run often from there up to the stadium. You can tailgate anywhere on campus you want, alcohol is fine, no hassles for open containers.

Pregame lunch is good at Looneys or Bobby Flay's Burgers on Route One near main entrance to campus. You can walk to the stadium from there.

Inside stadium, they sell all kinds of domestic, import and craft beer at concession stands and beer kiosks. There is a pretty large variety of food items sold throughout the stadium. Behind section 16, there is a Maryland Pride food concession selling Maryland crabcakes, crab soup, crab pretzels, Maryland Southern BBQ, and some other good offerings.

People are not going to hassle you or your kids.

Have a great time.

Game day parking suggestions? No pass and would prefer to not take the metro

Generally, what is ticket availability like outside the stadium on game day? If it is not a sellout, can you buy walkups or do you have to negotiate with scalpers exclusively on game day?

Thx in advance!

Was at the game....can’t say I walked everywhere, but that was a pretty lame college football environment. The stadium itself is fine, but the location is brutal. It is surrounded and there is no real atmosphere there.

If anyone collects ticket stubs but only had a paper print-out for the game and wants one, let me know. The nice people near me gave me some very nice looking used season tickets when they left at half time.
