Learned about it yesterday, when Petty Officer Cheque's Seal Team Six team-mate Edward C Byers was awarded the nation's highest military honor, the Medal of Honor, for his role as the second Navy SEAL team member to enter a Taliban compound on a frigid night in December 2012, part of a mission to rescue an American doctor being held hostage in eastern Afghanistan.
The first was Petty Officer First Class Nicolas Cheque who was shot in the head and killed instantly after he burst through the door.
Petty Officer Cheque hailed from PA and wrestled for the Norwin HS squad.
It's an inspiring example of the crucial role our one-of-a-kind sport plays in forging the very best young men we have to offer as a society.
