Renowned composer Ennio Morricone has died at age 91 ...

Some of the most memorable movie scores that will ever be written. I just watched The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly last week. And I believe I posted Ecstacy of Gold in the weekend thread a week back. R.I.P., Mr. Morricone.

A truly great composer of cinematic musical scores. His theme music to the great movie, The Mission (1986, Robert DeNiro, Jeremy Irons), is my favorite.

Here is the oboe solo at the front end of the piece, called "Gabriel's Oboe," by another skilled artist.

RIP. Worth mentioning his lone Academy Award was for scoring his final film, Quentin Tarantino's 'Hateful Eight'.

That's because of the anti-italianites of the Academy. Francis Ford Coppolla didn't win for The Godfather, Martin Scorcese didn't win for Raging Bull, Ennio Morricone, etc ...

Talk about racism!!!!! Santo cielo!!!!!
