Well, they aren’t….they’re not great teams, but they’re not bad either.

Ohio doesn't have a win over a D1A school with a winning record but they have two losses against D1A schools with losing records. That leans towards bad. Minnesota without Tanner Morgan is a bad team. Purdue is by far our best won however. They are not terrible. They are not good though either.

Our quality wins have to been minny, Purdue and auburn

We do not have a quality win. Purdue is the only win in the discussion for quality. Minnesota with Morgan might be, but maybe not. The teams they beat are a combined 18 and 48. It is no better with Auburn whose biggest is 6 and 3 San Jose State. We have played a sorry schedule. We beat the bad to mediocre, and lost to the only two that are any good.

College football is simply different. The undeniable fact that there was far less controversy during the entirety of the bowl era which spanned decades than during the BCS or playoff periods by itself is proof positive that the playoffs are an abomination.

After the game I heard one of the ESPN talking heads on the radio say that PSU will finish with "an unsatisfying, empty calorie" 10-2 regular season. Until we beat a good UMich or OSU team, that is going to be the perception. They did like our group coming back for next year though along with the recruiting class coming in.

We don't need conference championship games and no it isn't different--its why the champ was constantly considered mythical. You can hate things--I'm looking forward to a 20-24 team playoff in the next decade

Because the offense looked horrible in the first half. That isn’t nitpicking. Without two TDS from the ST and D we’d have been in a dog fight. The D TD early in the second half Simple broke their backs. That is three TDS that were not from the O

Good teams find ways to win when the offense struggles. This could have been similar to the '21 Illinois game, but we have an aggressive defense now that utilizes a lot of players. Carter is better today than any LB on the '21 team was. And we are missing JPJ yesterday, which would be like missing Brisker last year.

Singleton finally breaking a kickoff is why you recruit the best players.

If you’re being honest with yourself, we played some pretty bad teams. Indy, Northwestern, Rutgers. All pretty bad. We did beat the crap out of a decent Minny team and that Purdue win is good.
