PSU at Iowa- Who is going?

I just watched Fight Club last night.....there are easier ways that don't require as much heat :)
Lye is cheap and easy to get. Old Man River makes for a great drain ;)

@IAChief32 @WildTurk @ any other Iowa fans or people that have been to Carver, any suggestions for first timers? We are staying a mile away, is there parking, should we walk or Uber? We get in the afternoon, restaurant suggestions?

The Vine Iowa City 4pm-7pm match day. Ryan Warner from Wrestling Changed My Life Podcast and Zach & Tyler from Stalemates have a space rented out and are having give aways. Saw a invite on twitter didn't say hawk fans only. You should go to that probably be fun

Tehran being safer than Iowa City, do you really want to venture out after dark without armed escort? I would check to see if Vince Turk is available. Sammy Stoll can offer a testimonial that Vince can hit a target as small as a knee.

Plenty of parking. Depending on how early you show up will dictate how close to Carver you can get(see link for map) I am local and attend the meets with my parents. They are over 70 now and like to park close, so we usually arrive over an hour early. Have rarely had an issue getting into the lot(33 on map) right next to Carver. Each lot has it's own issues for leaving after the dual, so be patient.

@west2east is correct that The Vine is a hotspot before duals(located on hwy 6 just off view of the attached map). It's close enough to walk to Carver as well. It is uphill going to the meet, so be prepared for that if you have a full belly of beer and food. Old Chicago and Wig & Pen are right there as well. I typically don't go out to eat beforehand, so others may have better advice for you on that front.

As far as Carver itself, fantastic venue. Not a bad seat in the house. The place should be rocking. Get your Carver cone early if you are into that type of thing(sprinkles are optional). They do sell alcohol on site now, but I heard that you can only buy 1 at a time, so maybe hit up a few vendors before heading to your seats. If you take some laps around the concourse, you are bound to run into multiple Hawkeye legends.

Lastly, apart from a few bad, drunken apples, most Hawkeye fans are very approachable. Strike up a conversation or two while you are there. We appreciate fellow wrestling fans and talking about the greatest sport in the world, no matter what school the person is there to cheer for.

I mile is an easy walk and weather wont b bad. Then u dont have to worry about getting out of parking after, thats the worst part.

There is free parking all around. Just get there an hour early. That way you avoid all the long lines.
Make sure you get a picture with the Gable statue just outside Carver. Or the legend himself after the meet. He will probably be down hanging around the mat chatting with fans and Hawk alum after it's over. Don't be scared to go say hi. You may not get another chance.

Try to soak it all in and enjoy the atmosphere. It doesn't get better in college wrestling. With the way things have unfolded PSU likely wins comfortably so you will have a good experience I'm sure. Have a good time! Safe travels

Damn dude. For all the time you spend visiting us I just assumed you would be way more hospitable. Not so inclined towards violence.

Geesh
