I also went through and did what the allocations would be if the regular season ended today. Obviously there will be some movement with guys like Rivera who should claim a spot but wouldn't at the moment.

Some weights did have 29 guys who met the 30-30-70% criteria but I would think that will change as more guys hit the 15 match RPI in the coming 2 weeks.

I couldn't figure out how to post this in a neat, easy to read table.

125: ACC 3, Big 12 5, Big Ten 8, EIWA 7, MAC 3, PAC12 2, SoCon 1: 29 TOT
133: ACC 4, Big 12 7, Big Ten 6, EIWA 3, MAC 4, PAC12 2, SoCon 2: 28 TOT
141: ACC 3, Big 12 5, Big Ten 7, EIWA 5, MAC 4, PAC12 2, SoCon 1: 27 TOT
149: ACC 2, Big 12 5, Big Ten 10, EIWA 4, MAC 5, PAC12 1, SoCon 2: 29 TOT
157: ACC 5, Big 12 5, Big Ten 6, EIWA 4, MAC 6, PAC12 1, SoCon 1: 28 TOT
165: ACC 4, Big 12 5, Big Ten 8, EIWA 6, MAC 1, PAC12 3, SoCon 1: 28 TOT
174: ACC 3, Big 12 6, Big Ten 10, EIWA 4, MAC 3, PAC12 1, SoCon 2: 29 TOT
184: ACC 3, Big 12 4, Big Ten 9, EIWA 4, MAC 4, PAC12 2, SoCon 2: 28 TOT
197: ACC 1, Big 12 6, Big Ten 6, EIWA 6, MAC 5, PAC12 3, SoCon 1: 28 TOT
285: ACC 5, Big 12 7, Big Ten 8, EIWA 3, MAC 3, PAC12 1, SoCon 2: 29 TOT
Totals: ACC 33, Big 12 55, Big Ten 78, EIWA 46, MAC 38, PAC12 18, SoCon 15: TOT 283

Question regarding Verk possibly getting a 10th auto-qualifying 149 spot for B10: Do we know or have some idea of how NCAA weighs the 3 criteria (coaches ranking vs. RPI vs. win %) when allocating spots?

Of the coaches ranking Top 33, only 19 are >70% vs. D1 opponents (including Verk at 70.6%). Max that can possibly reach 70% by the postseason is 24 (add 1 more if van der Merwe's 14 total matches qualifies -- but does Win % require 15 matches?).

Probably the total will be closer to 20-22 -- a few above 70% are at risk (Verk, Degen, Hoffman); a couple below 70% are also at risk (RIchard, Leitten). (Richard is very unlikely -- he has to go 3-0 including O'Connor.)

This means that at least 5-7 auto-qualifiers will be below 70%.

If Verk splits Sasso and Clarke, he'll be at 68% -- below that threshold but at the front of the Top 33 who don't reach it. That plus a very good coaches ranking might be enough to get the 10th spot.

If he goes 0-2, then he's at 63% -- toward the lower end of Top 33 guys who don't reach 70%. In which case, the coaches ranking probably isn't enough.

They start at 30 CR, 30 RPI, 70% win percentage. You need to hit 2 of the three. They will go up to 29 CR, 29 RPI, 71% and so on until they get to the allocations of 29 (remember each conference must have at least one that counts towards the total for that weight, if not they will just get an auto even if they don't have a wrestler meet that standard for a certain weight). I don't know this for a fact but I would think the win% is the hardest to get but you either have 2 of the 3 criteria or you don't.

Got it. So what that means is 28 guys have 2 of 3 criteria today.

3 are at risk of dropping out. 4 more could directly win their way in (i.e., Win % would be the 2nd criterion) -- but they have to win out, and none are safe bets to do that.

A few more could go either way indirectly -- i.e., future wins or losses change their rankings or RPIs.

Gonna guess that 25-27 will meet baseline criteria.

would Verk's RPI improve even with 2 losses (since they would be to highly ranked wrestlers?
Surely it would improve if he goes 1-1?

What about berge if he comes back

He'd have to wrestle his way in which is another reason, in addition to his health, that they shouldn't wrestle him. He wouldn't be guaranteed anything, might end up doing what Nick Nevills did and miss NCAAs, which would waste a year. He's almost certain to get a medical year granted.

Two things;
-- The number of allocations is 29 max. Last year, three weight classes had less than 29. Two had 28, one had 27. That rule is still in place.
-- An expanded answer to E-J's question above. The three criteria for Silver/Gold Standard are not "weighted". There IS weighting to the three criteria, and the four other criteria that are added for Bronze Standard.

I think it’s highly unlikely that Ritter at 197 beats both Warner and Schultz. Striggow has a better shot if he ducks Schultz and then beats Christensen from Wisconsin and Reynolds from Edinboro. That would put his win% over 70 and he would for sure stay ranked in one or both of CR and RPI

He'd have to wrestle his way in which is another reason, in addition to his health, that they shouldn't wrestle him. He wouldn't be guaranteed anything, might end up doing what Nick Nevills did and miss NCAAs, which would waste a year. He's almost certain to get a medical year granted.
Yep. Moot point anyway he's not going tomorrow and at this point it's too late. Sad though because you think concussion and normally that is out for a few weeks but in this case he's done for the year.

Two things;
29 won't happen at all weights will have a few 27 I think

Sebastian Rivera just pinned Sandoval in the first period. He will now be ranked by the coaches and will earn a allocation for the conference. Hard to tell where he will be seeded at Big 10s

Will he have enough matches for a ranking or RPI? Today's win makes him 8-2.

But yes, B10 seeding will be an adventure.

He won’t get RPI cause he won’t have 15 but he just needed a match for coaches ranking. He hadn’t wrestled in more than 30 days so coaches weren’t allowed to rank him. He will now meet 2 out of 3 criteria with coaches rank and 70% or better win percentage. Talent wise he is right there with the top 3 but Piotrowski does have a win over him by injury default. RBY’s injury default win over Desanto should get him seeded over him so Pio’s should be treated the same. That puts Rivera 5th at best. I don’t know if they seed Alvarez or Lovett over him. Alvarez is 7-3 against Big 10 opponents (split with Pepple, lost to RBY in SV and was pinned by Pio) and Lovett is is 5-3 (losses to Gross MD, Desanto Dec, and RBY MD)
