I think you should give the edge to UPS for no other reason than they are playing at home. Looking at the rosters, I dont think they are a better team than Pitt. More stars?? Sure, but they had far more stars last year too.

JoeMo isn't going there. His sights are way, way higher. For a lower site, I'd be concerned about BC. But he isn't going to Pitt. He already turned away better jobs than that.

One of their ads makes the above claim, citing the Wall Street Journal. I am not familiar with this ranking. Was it straight-up academics, value, smallest home football crowds?

I believe it was the #1 public university in the Northeast that doesn't have a football stadium but does have more national championships than alumni. I think that was it.

Something just occurred to me in light of that ridiculous #1 claim above. Everyone knows that Penn State is the flagship university and the top public university in Pennsylvania. Best academics overall, best brand, largest global reach, most alumni, most extensive research, etc. To that end, it is no wonder that Graham Spanier went to Harrisburg to fight corbett for funding not just for Penn State, but also on behalf of pitt, temple, and Lincoln University.
The pitt athletic supporters who derive joy out of the false narrative related to sandusky should be thankful of their place well behind Penn State. Were pitt the flagship and best school in the state, it would have been their president/chancellor in Harrisburg pissing off corbett, leading to some damaging narrative about pitt borne out of a personal vendetta.
pitt athletic supporters ought to know their place and relish it.
