Yesterday I watched the Giants beat the Bills. Manning seemed to get rid of the ball in 2 seconds when he was in the shotgun but closer to 4 seconds when he was under center. The 2 seconds from the shotgun was ample time for the WRs/TEs to get 10+ yards down field and the only separation was 1/2 step which was all that Manning needed. Of course those passes were being thrown 10-15 yards down field, not 20+ yards laterally.

College isn't the pros but I'm surprised that we don't run more quick slant patterns or quick throws to the TEs. The OL doesn't have to hold their block very long and there's a lot of open space in the middle when the LBs are crowding the LOS.

To be fair I also watched ND vs. Clemson and was surprised at how much time the ND OL gave Kizer to throw the ball. Counting in my head it seemed like he routinely had 5 seconds to throw and that allowed his WRs time to get separation.
