OT: PIAA Basketball Championship History

Re:pIAA Basketball Championship History

In the men's bracket, a Philadelphia school could win each division! Cool!

Re:pIAA Basketball Championship History

Not in 2A. Conwell-Egan is in Bucks County. If Archbishop Carroll wins, they are located in Delaware County.

Are there any public schools left playing basketball in Philadelphia? **

Geographically, they may not be in Philly, but in the eyes of the PIAA they're from Philly - District 12 is the Philadelphia Public League and the Philadelphia Catholic League.

Constitution High is a Philly public school playing in the Class A finals, as well.

Constitution may be public in that it is operated by the Philly School District but it is no different than the private or Catholic schools that people on here complain about. It is an citywide, open admissions school.

MLK appears to be a neighborhood school although it does have magnet programs as well.

I'm sure there is no basketball recruiting in either case ;-)

Re:pIAA Basketball Championship History

True, if the statement said D12. I think it's also misleading when Wood in football is referred to as a Philly school. They're smack in the middle of Bucks County and just about their entire roster resides in Bucks County.

They should call it the SE PA Catholic League. Of the 14 schools remaining, 8 are in the suburbs and only 6 are left in the city
